msn messenger?

im having problems on my laptop whenever i start up my messenger.

it totally slows my internet down , and almost crashes my pc each and every time.

is there a reason for this does anyone know?

should i unsinstall messenger and start again?

there maybe a few reasons why it slows down ur internet, you might have some type of spyware or firewall searching messenger for virus etc so that MAY be using some of it up but thats just one in a few reasons maybe :/ sorry ive never realy had that problem tho. good luck finding the answer.
