Ok, who had the living daylights beat out of them as a kid? Not suggesting that this is the best form of parenting but still remember it!

Hello Wardy, Well actually I've never found making money very hard, but then I was very unprincipled about it in my youth and am still regarded as being quite ruthless. I made money twice significantly, the second time in excatly the same way as the first, but the first lot I gave to my wife in our divorce settlement in exchange for custody of our children. I just observed things from an early age. Who had what, how they got it,gaps that could be exploited and I took advantage of them. You need sod all money wise to become rich, you just need to look around, take advantage and apply yourself and not be too fussy how you make your money. I wanted to be an historian, that's my great passion, but no bloody money in that so I was ruthless with myself and went into things that there is money in, starting by buying old cars, doing them up and flogging them. Then I got a car lot, then I bought houses and rented them out. Alongside this I ran escort agencies, ran events (antiques fairs, psychic fairs, tack sales), I also had kids flogging flowers at the side of the road, running market stalls, catering trailers, you name it really, if there was money in in I had it covered somewhere. Not being proud about what you do and not being fussy was the key to it, ut none of it was clever or something no-one else could have done. Eddie Jordan (F1 boss) used to flog carpet remnants on a market I understand, it's that in the same principle, and don't put your egss on one basket.
Today I mainly property develope, have car lots and have some escort agencies, catering trailers and ice cream vans.Nothing posh and nothing clever.
Nox - If you need any help with your businesses you just let me know! : )
nox, you know you should be working with people who have been abused when they were children and most surely you should be documenting your life.
Oddly enough Crete I do work with people who've had drug problems (scores of times as the result of childhood abuse) and also I mentor some ex-offenders since I've been in the nick. I'm rather embarassed to say I am writing a book,at my wife's instigation, but I'm honestly not sure about it, as there are a lot of people who are still alive this will impact on and I know there are a fair few who are not keen on the idea for various reasons. We'll see, it's therapeautic though doing it, so I'm pressing on with it here and there. I don't like the idea that people either write themselves off or get written off by other people and I think there's a culture of buck passing that goes on a lot. As kids we're not taught that we are ultimately responsible for our own actions and our own fates and I think that's where a lot of problems lie, we give our personal power to other people. I went through a phase of blaming my abuse for what I was doing at that point, and frankly that's cr4p, I was just an arseh0le and I needed a damned good wake up call which I got in the form of my second wife who made it very plain she thought I was copping out and letting myself down in allowing it to affect me and in holding onto the hate. Once I accepted it and let it go, my life almost slipped into place naturally, which is what she felt would happen, but I was terribly skeptical about. I would have still been floundering in a quagmire of my own making without her.I have a hard job sometimes convincing people that forgiving those who've damaged them is the best gift they can give themselves, but for me it was true.
