I have watched HIGNFY more or less since it started, and everyone knows the format by now.
Those guests who will make good TV if they are ribbed, are ribbed, and they usually handle the banter easily.
I thought Mr Farage was excellent, he showed a great sense of humour and not to take himself too seriously, and the give-and-take obviously encouraged Merton and Hislop.
The two regulars are witty quick-witted individuals, and the format of the show demands that they get stuck into guests, who are at liberty to strike back if able - but it is rarely a one-sided contest as regular viewers will know.
Mr Farage obviously went on with his eyes fully open, knew what to expect, and took it well, and I warmed to him considerably.
He is certainly possessed of a sense of humour and that is seriously rare in a politician!
