The answer to this appears to be 'Wanda', but can anyone square that with the instruction that all the alphabetical clues are 'of a kind'? It doesn't seem to be of that kind at all!

An enjoyable offering by Doc which brought back a lot of memories....
Technical problem. When I try to print the Times puzzles I can only print the grid(s) ... not the clues. Everything (ie grid + clues) is visible on the screen. Is anyone else experiencing this...
stumped on wordplay on : 30 down: puzzler displays cups and saucers but no vice. teaser or teaset? 40 across: Hooker in bedroom with prat; ????s does 1 across unclued light which i think is gruel go...
