Watched this film on DVD and I am sure a chicken is badly injured when a soldier falls on it.

What do you think ?

I thought this type of thing was not allowed in film making.

What a bunch of hypocrites you lot are. I can imagine the outcry if there was a clip where someone injured a cat.
the motto of the Stunt Chickens Guild is 'If you think stunt work is dangerous, just try crossing the road'.
I do agree Wildwood.
And how many of us had trodden on numerous bugs/insects - without a care - over the years?
Agree with both Lottie and wildwood. I've just been told on CB, where this question is as well that "it's only a chicken, get over it".............!

I dotn eat cats wildwood..... or bugs
So people getting locked up for years in horrendous conditions not a problem then?
But ok it is sad if they were just being kept for acting parts as pets etc... it reminds me of when a dog got into our garden and I watched it rip my chicken apart :-(
yes but I dont eat people either
Oh 4getmenot !!!!! That's really sad.
Glass windows kill 900 million + birds every year.

Cats 100 million +

Cars 100 million +

Electric pylons and lines 174 million +

If you have a car, cat, or windowed house with electric, then you are more of an hazard to birds than French film-makers.
If the chicken had been a slug there would be no uproar - ya bunch of hypocrites.
Sad that your chicken got totalled.

Not sad that you don't eat people.

Thought I'd better clarify that one.
Whether we eat them or not is not significant. No animal should suffer pain in our hands. The type of animal is not significant. I admit I probably kill hundreds of bugs unintentionally every day, but I really can't help it. I wouldn't even harm a bug intentionally.
here they try to make amends for one chicken at least

Hang on ... was the chicken running around in "agony" ... or was it just playing it's part too well?

"Come on, third chicken, you've been crushed ... show me pain darling, show me suffering ..."
Yes Gromit true, but we shouldn't joke about it.
pmsl @ joggerjayne... 'cmon chicken number 3, let me hear you cluck! - with meaning' ;o)
Gromit, dont be bloody silly now!

we're all aware that our very existance is a danger to almost every other living being, but that doesn't mean to say that we can't feel some kind of sadness when one is injured/killed accidently like that chicken in the film.

I'm appalled and frankly quite scared of the people who either seem to think something like this is funny, or it doesnt matter as its just a chicken or just plain have no empathy whatsoever. To show lack of sympathy to anything that is killed/ injured needlessly shows to me that person is damn cold inside!
