Watched this film on DVD and I am sure a chicken is badly injured when a soldier falls on it.

What do you think ?

I thought this type of thing was not allowed in film making.

You wouldnt want to see what happens in the chicklen sheds around here then to get that on your dinner table BOO
'' I just dont understand free range chickens and looking after them also nicely just to go kill them in the end. ''

Er... quality of life?
yes but no-one knows where the chickens from half the time. Thats just my opinion. leaves the thread as being taken waaaay too seriously now

Ya chicken ;o)
4get- i know exactly how our none free range chickens go from living breathing things to our dining tables!

What i'm getting at is that whilst it does (and probably is) seem hypocritical of me saying all this as I do eat meat, and not allways free range, I still can't and wont find anything like this remotely funny.

Because BOO, if you truly feel that the welfare of children is equal to that of chickens, then you're a bit scary.

I never buy battery chicken produce. I only buy eggs and chickens from a farm shop, so I know that they are treated as well as they can be.

But I think most people would hope to value their children's welfare just a teeny bit higher than that of a chicken.
Exactly, nagy nag nat.

4get. How can you say one thing about it not mattering how they are treated because they are killed in the end and then say what you have just said to BOO?

The Chickens in chicken sheds are treated appallingly and have dreadful lives and hundreds are lost through injury. How anybody can support this and still eat factory farmed chickens amazes me.
BOO ...

If you're driving along and you see an injured chicken lying on the roadside, do you stop to help?

If you're driving along and you see an injured child lying on the roadside, do you stop to help?

Your answer to both must be the same.
Yes!!! Quality of life - so why are you all making such a joke out of it!!!! I find it very disturbing that people can find humour in this sort of thing!!! And before you start clucking .... No, I do not eat chicken/pigs, cows or any other sort of animal!!!
Joggerjayne, off course our children's welfare is more important, but it doesn't mean that misfortunes to animals should be treated as a joke. And yes, I personally think that people who have no respect for animals have no respect for people either.
Joggerjayne, I know your question was directed to BOO, but I have to say that I would stop for an injured bird or animal or person. In fact I do and have always done so.
I agree LoftyL, but I suspect that nonee of the people in this thread would wilfully cause an animal to suffer ...

... even those of us who cannot get too worked up about a chicken that got hurt 35 years ago.

Thanks for your concern guys, but how does all this angst help that chicken???
When you pi$$ in a free range chicken run they all run towards it & try to drink it . We used to have competitions , I think the record was 26 chickens pi$$ed on .
Ok I'm back, but not to argue, so please stop with the exclamation marks you're scaring me BOO :-) Loftie Because I cant afford to eat free range chicken. I just by chicken and chicken is a kind of luxury in my flat with the money I get. And I didnt finf humour in the video I found humour in the post. Doesnt mean I would do that to a chicken but it happens as I know from my poor chicken.
It doesnt jogger which is why I am now running away..... again
LoftyL, it must take you ages to get anywhere.

I can't drive far without passing squirrels, rabbits, hedgehogs, the odd badger, mice, birds, foxes, all sorts of things on the road, or in the road. I don't stop to check them all out.

But if I saw a little child on the roadside in a pool of blood, I think I might pull over.

And I'm not sure our local vet would be too keen if I turned up every day with box loads of injured vermin.
Just don't eat chicken then 4get! If people didn't buy factory farmed chicken, then the practice would have to stop. Have something else for luxury. Have a nice veggie curry and a bottle of plonk! ;o)
I like a veggie curry as a side order with my chicken balti.
LOL Joggerjayne. No I don't stop if things are obviously dead or in the throws of obviously dying (which where I live would be every 5 yards). However, if I see an injured animal suffering in the road (and I can safely stop) then I do and if necessary would put an end to it's suffering if necessary. I did take a duck to the vet once because it was walking backwards!! It had concussion and they treated it and released it the next day!!
Ditto Loftylottie to the veggie curry and bottle of plonk! Cheers! :o)
