Afternoon, animal lovers. I don't have any animals anymore but lov'em and often watch all sorts of animal clips on YouTube. This one featuring the chicken police really intrigued me - is there anyone among you that could come up with a theory as to why two fighting rabbits should annoy the roosters to such a degree??

The second video is just a bonus for you cat lovers, no question attached, although if any of you have your own little roomba driver at home, do tell!

Poor Dolly's husband has had a heart attack and is in hospital, I hope he gets well, they are such a lovely family!
Morning all...crikey if sleeping was an olympic sport this lot in here would be odds on favourite....tut

Oh no, poor Mr D, please send love & best wishes to Dolly xxx

Yes Vin, I was thinking about Cetti, it was her birthday on Friday & I was going to email her & forgot...still, better late than never, I'll wish her a happy belated one from all of us shall I?

Sorry you've had such a rough do with your cold (flu?) Jude, hope you feel better soon, it takes it out of you.
... we haven't got any good weather to help either, looks like snow 'n sleet for this week. Have you seen what they've had in Washington! And whatever the US gets we seem to have the tail end of within a fortnight....sorry, shall I leave now ?
Jude, glad you are feeling better, flu's a b*gger, hope there was someone to look after you!

Swedie hope you are feeling more chipper now.

Love to all the biddies.
Neti you do know Vinny's leading your lover astray? Or ashtray even :o)

Just went to other side of island to see the famous almond blossoming trees, acres and acres of them, look like fluffly clouds beautiful, and to eat in the famous tortilla (omelette) house but the amount of people, bikes, buses horses, drove us mad, impossible to park, so we decided to go somewhere else.

Oohh a piccy of Barry now I'm smoking all over!!!!

Afternoon biddy buddies - Jude's baaack too! You've been really ill haven't you - glad you've "shone" today. Ah just look at the lavender? fields in that Cassidy clip...! Neti did you not bring your camera to the almond trees!!!!!!!!

Thanks everybiddy for tooth info, 'preciate it. Also Tarquin's dusting tip;-) Ain't it funny how everything comes together. I bought a couple of lustrous lampshades on Friday and I was saying to my friend I won't know how to clean them without rubbing dust into them - enter the hairdryer method:)

Been re-reading previous posts to catch up where I left off the other day. Couldn't help but laugh: When Vinny said "daughter lives in shi$ehole" it could be construed as if I replied "oh good, she'll feel right at home then!" - ha ha ha ha ha! Hope you got what I actually meant, Vinny - which wasn't the above. BTW would your daughter be very upset with you if you told us biddies what she studies these days? I remember you told us years ago her subject was performing arts.

Bent my friend's ear thoroughly yesterday and feel slightly better for it. Then, as I walked her to the subway, a man fell at our feet in all the ice and the snow on my street. What seems to be the trouble my, good man, are you drunk or are you ill? quoth I in my usual, tactful manner (well I thought it was rather important to establish what was what!) Drunk, he replied meekly. We helped him to his feet (ouch, my back today:( and watched him stagger along with his palms on the house facades. Perhaps he made it 'cos he wasn't around as I returned from the subway.
just been watching a wonderful documentary about this woman

http://en.wikipedia.o...rite_Hay_Drummond-Hay

went around the world by zeppelin in 1930 - on board it turned out she was supposed to be working with a former lover, providing much tension; plus they floated over riots in Berlin, found a stowaway on board who was trying to get to Hollywood, got into trouble with the Russians for avoiding Moscow, nearly crashed into mountains in Siberia (which were muh higher than the charts said), then were presumed lost in a typhoon over the Pacific. You couldn't make it up but it was all true. All with film footage from the trip (only 20 passengers on board but they seemed to be mostly reporters) plus readings from her news reports and her diaries. Great stuff. What lives people used to live.

Incredible a story like hers could have been forgotten, jno. It's all like a surrealist dream. Hope our teve buys that documentary. And if not, I'm sure she's Hollywood bound anyway. Who do you see in the lead role?

I grew up with Simon &Garfunkel, Jude, always liked 'America' - and it's so great finding an amateur you like on YouTube isn't it. Here's another gifted amateur singing a song you may be familiar with if you like Eva Cassidy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzRC_v8DeDc as she sang it too

...and here's another America https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DL0TVRYgbSI sung by Swedish Nina (from Cardigans, originally)
Oh, Johnny Dankorth has died, yes I know he prefered John but he'll away be johnny to me.
Morning all. Hope you have a good week. I have blood test day today and then school this afto.

Just have to tell you that's my youngest son. If he doesn't mind being on You Tube he wont mind being on here.!!

See yer later 'gater(s) !
didn't have time to commiserate with everyone on their aches and pains lat night, especially Dolly's husband, as my computer was crashing every five minutes (thank you, Sir Branson); but I hope people are feeling better after the weekend.

Kit, as that Wiki piece mentions, the documentary was originally Dutch, though the version I saw had the voice-overs in English - in fact, I see Wiki actually mentions its UK screening, which is impressive since it had only finished five minutes before I looked her up. Imagine - married to a man 50 years older than her; held in a Japanese prison camp; around the world in a zeppelin. The film didn't say she got back with Karl, though - he seemed a rather plain old man (also 20 years older than her) but the diaries made clear that she gave him up with regret so he could be with his wife. Do keep an eye out for it, it was fascinating.
Have just seen Pinter's The Dumb Waiter, which I quite liked, am now trying to track down The Birthday Party as jude seemed to like it.

Your son's very good Jude, if my two are on youtube they haven't informed me...and I haven't told them about my videos either :o)

Ok, you'd better all look out for an email, I'm really looking forward to this one (?)...think I might book a flight in a zeppelin http://willthomasonli...ps_Return/IMAG006.GIF

Shaney it worked ! despite feeling very despondent yiur video clip made me smile and feel happy for the two animals .I could do with someone like Suriya(?) right now .Thanks forall your good wishes for Eric (Mr.D) ,evidently he had a heart attack when he got out of the car at the Shopping centre which is why he fell .We had no idea he had heart trouble but looking back I can now see the warning signs prior to this happening .He's had all the necessary tests and we'll be told on Tuesday about the pacemaker etc. I don't think I'd cope without him so I'm praying for a quick recovery -we've been married 60 years in August -it's like the other half of me is missing right now but he's in very good hands at the Hospital.
that's good to hear, Dolly.

shaney, here it is (it was BBC4)
