Is the cat just trying to get the dog out of the way for the dog's own protection, do you think? They seem friendly enough otherwise - the dog doesn't seem to mind, and the cat doesn't seem aggressive once it gets off the Roomba.

Ooooh nice aviators everyone but I do wish Basil would pull his pants up a bit :)

Lovely day here today ,warm and sunny and Mr S and I did a bit of shopping .He brought the stuff home and I went over the bridge and bought some shoes and other necessaries .
They had an opera singer busking in the market place .He was brilliant and was singing Funiculi Funicula ...so I sat on a seat and watched and he got a really loud applause .
I'm so glad Mr.S had gone home because he would have been singing along in the rude German version ....
Funiculi Funicula ...Wir bumsen heir, wir bumsen da ....tausend nackte weiber auf dem Männer pissoir.
I told him about it when I got home and he's been singing it ever since .Little things etc .

Fair play to Mankell Kit .I think he's an admirable man and in view of all the work he's done in Africa he would hardly lie about what he saw.

Good news for you Jude ,I'm pleased for you .

Sorry to hear poor Mr Woofie is still under the weather .I hope he'll soon feel better .
Mine is off to the doctor too next week .He looks OK and is eating me out of house and home but he's lost weight for no reason .He says he feels OK but you know what men are like so I want him to get checked over .I don't want another how's your father like we had with the prostate trouble .

Lovely picture of your grinds Robinia .I hope you wear your tiara whilst perumbulating through the shrubs :)
Oh goodness me ,I've just caught up with the news. What a terrible thing this all is in Cumbria
I don't know ..it's all just awful all over the world at times .Nothing but bad news wherever you look .
ooh yes, woofgang, I have gout. I got put on allopurinol years ago and since the dosage went up to 400mg a day I've had no more attacks. I saw my GP for a review today - I say 'my' GP, he's one of the ones I occasionally see, but he obviously knows nothing about me, asked if I took the 100mg and 300mg pills on alternate days and looked surprised when I said no, all at once... Anyway, it works, and I'll be taking them forever. It never was so bad I couldn't put a sheet over it but it was pretty painful at times and I spent one winter walking with a stick. I expect Mr Woof will recognise this

Shaney, Funiculi funicula was written when they opened a funicular railway to take people up Mt Vesuvius. It didn't last. When I went up 30 years ago all they had was a ski lift - very eerie going up amid wind whistling and the wires creaking. Now I think you just take a bus up the road to the top.
here's some good news, shaney, I've won two tickets to a special preview this weekend of Simon Callow's new one-man show on Shakespeare.

So I'm all right even if everyone else is feeling miserable, and that's gotta be good.
Oh well done Jno ,what a lovely thing to win .
Simon Callow is brilliant . I remember watching him years ago in Chance in a Million, which was very witty and of course in Four weddings etc .He's a very versatile chap .
My winnings are very thin on the ground lately :) Twenty quid for the Speccie crossword isn't going to buy me a villa in the south of France .Tut....

The bawdy German version of Funiculi Funicula was always sung at Carnival and starts off with.... Ole ..wir fahren nach puff im Barcelona ...Ole Ole ..... very rude but after several schnapps you get into the swing of things:))

This guy today had everybody singing and clapping along .He was just brilliant .
Morning all, how lovely shaney, I would have been singing along (a clean version) too. Now I do not sprachen die deusch, so is there anyunchance of a translation?

I had a friend who had gout and he was in unbearable pain, and that's all I'm saying!

Hope DH gets better soon.
Woofy I've left you a pm on FB!
My typing is getting dreadful, and cannot blame the computer cos it happens on both of them. For some reason I like pressing the "n" a bit too often.
oddly, bumsen is one of the german words I do know thanks to the film Cabaret...Thank you for all the good wishes, things seem to be going in the right direction again here.
I have to get myself an aviator don't I??
ha jno, I'll show him that gout pic when he's feeling better
Ha yes, simon Callow is brilliant...wonderful voice...you guys cost me a fortune om itunes...gotta go buy that love album
God heavens woofy, that is an aviator??

Wel this'll cheer you all up immensley, it is absolutely peeing down, thundering down, just as I am suited and booted (well scrubbed and combed) to go out! Hope it won't last too long!
Good morning all. Hope you had a decent night. I was up at 6 again. Going to Belper today to go for a walk with a friend then calling at a pub for lunch. We meet up in Derby usually but we decided on a change today. Love your avator Neti (see what I did then).
Looking round this house I could do with getting the dyson out. Then again the weather'll change in a bit so I can do it then. Now that's sorted the housework I'll go and get ready.
Bye for now have a good day
Morning all ☼
Have a good time Jude. Be careful on those hills... have you got your wheelie heels on?
Enjoy your do too jno...can't say that I'm a huge Shakespeare fan but I love Simon Callow. He's not coming to Derby with it I see...quel surprise. I think this is more Sooty show country...no big words :o)

Ah, so the Apple's back -well done Sweedie...you know it makes sense Vinny but you really shouldn't leave it where neti can get at it...

What's all this funiculussing?... <grabs shaney by the vest straps>... I'm going to singing that ALL day now!!! Not that I know the words, I just make up rude ones - I really do that to lots of rousing songs in foreign languages. Actually I read your comment about sitting on the bench as.. "so I sat on a seat and watched and I got a really loud applause"....I thought you'd forgotten to put ya drawers on, hahaha ...Sounds like a lovely day.

Hope everyone's feeling good/fair to middlin'. I can't say I feel bad, just not great but a nice day in the shade with me scribbling book might help.

Hmmmmm, so Robbi has finally lost the plot..................... and gone la la (la, la, la)

Good morning everybody. I have just had my breakfast, whilst reading a magazine sitting outside under my paracatol and gazing over the fields. Now I really must come back down to earth and clean my kitchen floor and the bathrooms.

Such is life, sigh.............
a paracatol?? I thought they were pills.
LOL jno. I am taking so many bloomin' pills at the moment that they are never off my mind!!
For your info Robi, I don't much apples and only Granny Smiths when I have too.

Refused to listen to that Lanza song, I will not have that on my mind all day!

Sunny again here and breezy so most pleasant.

Took muscles relaxantes (in English - no idea) last night and back feels a whole lot better, yes 'm.

Morning lottie, and jude enjoy your hiking!

I'm with Robi on the Shakespeare thing! Love Dickens though! What? oh not the same!!
