Yoo-hoo, is this the portal to the realm of the faeries...? (...as it says in that hawthorn piece.) I must have missed you by a fraction last time I checked the AB last night jno, but belated thanks, that was an interesting article. I'll pass it on to my sister. "By oak, ash and thorn" is a beautiful spell.

Aargh, YouTube won't let me watch the Duffy! "This video is not available in your country" it says! (Is it because they're afraid our prime minister would do his own version of that one too...?) Which one was it, Robinia, so far Mercy and Warwick Avenue have been the only hits here./ Ain't that the truth what you say about the peculiar legitimacy of religion. When I was a wee young vegetarian and asked to be served veggie food on a regular basis in the chow hall at the hospital where I worked I was asked to produce a medical certificate - unless of course I wouldn't eat meat for religious reasons, in which case I wouldn't have to have someone support my decision. Knowing me I raised hell of course, demanding to know just exactly what that certificate was supposed to certify, and in the end they realized they didn't even know what they meant...! Well anyway I believe we are all God, not individually, but together. And not yet, but potentially. We have such a longing for God we are bound to create him sooner or later. I'm not being flippant or anything, this is what I really believe.

And now for something completely different. (Thank you John Cleese.) I never know how to spell "aargh" so to write the above paragraph I looked it up again for the umpteenth time, and found the aargh page This is my kind of research!

Vinny I miss you like hell.

wafts in smelling of amami setting lotion & pompadour hair lacquer

do you know?...... down the street there's been an elastoplast stuck to the pavement throughout all of this wet summer - it must be healed by now.........and how come they don't stick to your skin for more than an hour?

The Duffy song is her latest brilliant song Kit, Stepping Stone, hope you can find it somewhere.

Yes Vinny we all miss you!
(I did try to mail you a little note but you've got demons in your inbox again:o( . Hope you're ok )

<Neti's connected to everyone, everywhere?!!>
aaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

evening all (bends knees and touches helmet) well bends one knee the other one is still gyppy..Dh has dragooned me into going to see a physio next week, he's fed up with the wingeing. Did anyone else get the thunder and lightning today? the dogs came in from the garden soaking wet and highly excited which meant that I got soaking wet and highly displeased.
Another wave to Vinny...hope you are okay...or has Neti's login lurgy got to you?
Have just watched part two of Lost in Austen on vid (well sky box) for those of you who haven't seen it, a modern day girl goes through a door in her bathroom and ends up in Pride and Prejudice in place of Lizzy Bennett. So far she has got drunk and french kissed Mr Bingley , has taught the Bennett girls to swear and kneed Mr Collins in the nadgers in the middle of the Netherfield ball...oh and she called Mr Darcy a git...its a bizarre concept but I think very funny.
morning all, lovely one it is too (but coming over cloudy) & that's the only cheery thing I can say at the moment I'm afraid. Bro was whisked off into hospital last night with pneumonia & so instead of going to sit & eat cakes in the garden with him we'll be sitting by his bed. It's hard for us but I can't imagine how so bl00dy sick & tired of all this he must be.
Sorry to be a misery, I just get angry at the injustice of life sometimes.

Hope your weekend is a better & sunny one.
Oh Robi that's terrible! Your poor bro, it's such a horrible illness. Does his chest hurt? I do hope he'll be Ok. Take care of yourself . Life is an injustice, but we bear with it! x
Hello All

I'm so sorry to hear about your bro Robi . I really hope he gets well soon and I am thinking about you. x

Sorry to hear about your bro Robi. Its horrible isn't it, seeing people we love suffer and struggle and there's nothing we can DO about it except be with them...and you are right, there is no justice (hugs)
Have just tried Elvis' favourite sandwich, peanut butter and banana and fried, always wanted to try it - well it was edible, it was interesting and I'll maybe eat it again, but won't make an special effort. Anyone else ever tried it?
Question Author
no but at college a favourite sandwich was condensed milk spread on buttered white bread and sprinkled with sugar...I am aslo rather fond of bovril and ginger jam on the same piece of toast....DH can't look!
Eeeuuukk!!!
Poor your brother, Robinia. At least he will be more comfortable at hospital than at home, but it's horrible. I hope when you get home tonight you'll be able to get some rest

Lost in Austen sounds like something I'll give a chance when it appears on our teve screens, Woofy - as most British drama seems to do sooner or later. And Bovril with ginger jam sounds delicious, although I'll opt for Marmite, but it's similar isn't it? The thinnest spread of Marmite topped with sliced banana on toast is delicious - and you'd better believe it Neti or you can go stand on the Eeeuuukk Page, ha ha ha (there's another word they didn't teach us foreigners how to spell at school.)

And speaking of bananas, don't forget to bring one the next time you're invited to a party.

party trick

I used to do that trick in front of my class when I was a teacher! They thought I was magic!!

Have you heard that Alitalia the Italian airline is going bust tomorrow? I can't believe it. Do hope jno isn't still travelling the globe or who knows where she'll end up???
I would also love to see Lost in Austen, but heaven only knows if and when Sky will get it.

marm sent me all the Classical dvds from Daily Mail, and I am so enjoying them. Making up for my mis-spent youth!!! Watching "Vanity Fair" at the moment.
You said you were going to keep them for long winter evenings! That's cheating!
Hi marm I know I did but it was too tempting!!!

You and Mr M ok?
Hiya..dont watch this
missed you...! sorry its taken me so long.. sometimes i just gotta avoid the cameras..! Thanks very much fer yer kind thingys..its bin a weird time. This guy in zuperbug this morning....he rides in on one of them there wheel chairs and he's robbin the place like there's no tomorrow..! they tells him to put it back....he wheels himself outta the shop..and he's got a massive white dog...this is true..he lassooos him, shoots up the road with this dog pulling him...never seen nothing like it..really appreciated your messages..thanks..xxxxv=yo~(*_*)~

I am just going to walk everywhere in future, neti. At least until Clarke's shoes go bust.

Welcome back Vinny - and Robinia, I'm sorry to hear of your brother's problems. If I meet him I shall tell him some of mine, to try to take his mind off things.
Morning all !
