(This is a rerun of a question I asked a while back in the main category. Didn't get any replies there - could it be that the real buffs dwell in subcategories only? Sorry to be such a pain in the proverbial but I really want that poster - if indeed it exists.)

I used to own a black-and-white photo postcard from a Martha Graham production where dancer Merce Cunningham comes flying through the air in one giant leap. A woman (Graham?) sits at her desk in a jaded pose studying his flight toward her as if she were assessing his flying techniques rather than anticipating his company. Cunningham's body is cram full with energy, he's like a spring just released; looking at the picture you feel he must surely bounce once he lands.

I'd love to have this photo on my wall as a poster but haven't been able to find it. I'm good at advanced googling but search engines do provide different results in different countries - so if you're in the mood for some googling and you don't live in Sweden...

Oh poppit beads, thanks Neti, I don't know what they were called here but I remember playing with them, each bead had a "stem" and a knob hidden inside the next bead. I can feel them in my hands know!

Robinia I think Tarquin must have connected the entire biddy society to your new computer 'cos mine's running faster today too! Bright kid! / Ha ha ha I love the Moody Blues guy at 3.20 when he has to fumble a bit to get the handset under his Remington Steele hair-do, he he he, "Remington Steele, the man with the hurricane safe hair", remember.

Shocking news, my childhood school mate is getting married. She's never been married before. I remember they said on Oprah that if a woman hasn't married before she's forty, she is more likely to be wiped out in a terrorist attack than to ever get married... Well somebody's got to be the exception, and this girl's always gone her own way; good for her. Here's a funny pick-up line I just heard (on the telly, more's the pity): Is it just me or are you hot in here? Jude will probably get married at 80, won't you Jude.
Yes and we'll all be bridemaids!!
Question Author
(..."hot" as in gorgeous, that is - that may be American English.)

Did you know, Laughing Baby William from YouTube - posted here by Robinia - is to guest star in an episode of Simpsons! Not the kid himself obviously, he'll be made into a character!

Here's another cutie pie

But what will we wear?
Question Author
Er... how--- how lovely, Robinia <and how appropriate that the faces should be pixellated> - is that you second from the left?

When I was a director's assistant one of the actresses would do this old music hall number been there done that That's not her, though, that's me! (Well not far from!)

Ha ha Neti, but who gave El Vin a black eye?

I've been out in the drizzling rain and now I feel like a wet dog. It's been drizzling for two days; it's what I always think of as an urban rain - you know, city lights reflected from the wet pavement and you're just waiting for the saxophones to set in and a humphreybogart-like character to appear before you in a trench coat and hat, asking for a match - that sort of thing.

Instead it was my old gay hairdresser what appeared before me on the pavement, my god, I have never run in to that man as ridiculously many times as I have done now, since I "betrayed" him with another hairdresser...! Very nice guy, though, and a silversmith as well as a hairdresser. A couple of years ago he went to Japan to be represented at an exhibition, and the next time I cut my hair at his salon I was looking at the pictures in a Japanese magazine he'd brought back with him. And what do I see in one of the photos if not my neighbour (the one who scared me half to death knocking on my window when there was a scaffold outside our house) sitting at a cafe which is only two blocks from here. And the salon is on this street, where I live. Very unreal feeling. To add to that, they have the same Christian name, my neighbour and the hairdresser, and my hairdresser had bought the magazine partly because he was interested in buying the chair my neighbour was sitting on... The thing about that cafe, you see, is that everything's for sale there, not just the coffee but also the chair that you sit on, the table that you put your cup on, the lamp that shines its light onto the pages of your book... And he had to go to Japan to find that chair, a five minute walk away from where he works...
That's jolly psychic Kit ..I've just finished a book by one of your fellow Scandanavians,a Norwegian author Jo Nesbo ...of course it was a murder mystery but with psychic overtones .
I have just been watching whispering Dan's architecture programme .Did anyone see it ? That ossuary place at Sedlec was something to behold !
Poor Jude ..we've got her married off already :)

I wonder if I should wear my tiara ..or shall I get one of those little hats with a feather ...I've seen a really nice handbag ...oooh and the price of confetti these days.....tut ..
yes, Sedlec was amazing wasn't it shaney... I saw a place like that in Rome once but not nearly as elaborate or tidy - nobody going round it with George. I have just added it to my list of places to see before I die. Or maybe I could just have my bones sent there afterwards, I think you could probably construct a giant hamburger out of them or something
I was completely memerised ...I looked it up on WIki .It was so beautiful ..in a ghoulish sort of way !
Also that lovely place in Genoa ..the wonderful statues . I was quite overcome .The one of the lady who sold nuts and bread ..what a wonderful likeness .And the way they celebrate death in India ..amazing .We have a lot to answer for here with our unkept graveyards !
Although this is typical ...country churches and leaning headstones ....wouldn't want it any other way really. It woudn't be the same ...
Mind you when I go to Germany and we visit father in law it's all beautifully kept and tidy with candles and and all that palaver .
I love old Dan ...always enjoy his programmes .
Morning all - morning kit!

Well I think Robi's computer is draining mine of all power, can hardly get on here, and it's soooo sloooow.

Can any of you access "My Profile" (no not mine actually - yours) cos I've emailed the techies several times and no reply and I just cannot get into my profile anymore. It's probably on Robi's new one by now!!
I enjoy his programmes too, shaney - but Dan himself drives me nuts, his hands whirring like helicopters and the way his voice goes up and down.... bring back Richard Dimbleby... Alvar Liddell...

Yes, the Genoa cemetery is also on my places to visit, though only for 10 years of course. I'd never even heard of either of these places before, so I'm finding the series very educational. But Wiki says Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman went to the ossuary, so I'm obviously falling behind the play here. By the time I get there I'll probably find Time Team or Antiques Roadshow broadcasting from the churchyard, or Eastenders on one of their summer holidays.
