(This is a rerun of a question I asked a while back in the main category. Didn't get any replies there - could it be that the real buffs dwell in subcategories only? Sorry to be such a pain in the proverbial but I really want that poster - if indeed it exists.)

I used to own a black-and-white photo postcard from a Martha Graham production where dancer Merce Cunningham comes flying through the air in one giant leap. A woman (Graham?) sits at her desk in a jaded pose studying his flight toward her as if she were assessing his flying techniques rather than anticipating his company. Cunningham's body is cram full with energy, he's like a spring just released; looking at the picture you feel he must surely bounce once he lands.

I'd love to have this photo on my wall as a poster but haven't been able to find it. I'm good at advanced googling but search engines do provide different results in different countries - so if you're in the mood for some googling and you don't live in Sweden...

morning all....lovely photos jno and thank you for the music Kit. Our first home was in Somerset under the Mendip Hills (Wells) Every winter you could guarantee either floods or heavy snow and loss of power so I got into the habit of keeping candles, soup, a camping stove, waterproof matches and so on to hand. 30 years and 4 houses later I am still doing it...
I went out and chopped down the jungle in the green house yesterday and put some of my bigger plants outside. I got the hose out (new thing for the pups) to water the pots and one puppy, the more nervous one actually, discovered a lovely new game of attacking the water stream as it comes out of the hose and biting it. Until recently he would skirt around puddles but he had no problem getting absolutely soaked with the new game. His bro looked on but wouldn't join in.
If anybody has some spare warm sunshine I could do with it here, tort didn't even stir out of his bed in the spare room yesterday...notmally he's out all day by now and sleeping out some nights as well.
morning all...or should I say few.

<stuffs a satsuma up jno's trumpet....tut>

Have you all gone back into hibernation like woofy's tortie? I wouldn't blame you, it's like November, cold wet & misty.

woofy!! are you still here? take Kit's long rubber gloves off a minute please, I've got a Q for you & you're making me uncomfortable.
You mentioned a winter honesuckle a while ago... do you prune it hard (aka slaughter it) or just lightly tidy it which is all I've ever done? Mine's really huge now & I know summer h/s's are tough things, so I'm hoping this one will recover from a good hacking back?
Hilarious how dogs that hate baths like playing with water...my last dog was like that. Chas legs it if I so much as look at the garden tap.

I know how your bro-i-l feels Kit....the best part about winter is that I get to recognise everyone by their coats....if they buy a new one I'm bu&&ered. :o)

The good news is (?) I've found the ant home so I'm going to put one of those ant-stations down (without nosey old fur-ball getting at it). Hopefully soon they'll all be ushered in by a portly little station master with a flat cap & a whistle & sit in the waiting room doing the crossword & preparing TO DIE!....mwhahahaha

Morning all..(:O
lovely and sunny ere Again...!(*_*) hope yer all okay yo(:O)
oh don't you start Vincent - no time to stop & chat eh?...'spose we're too common for ya now.... :o(

Hello robinia...hows yer weather....(:O)
Im sending my ****$ehawks up to shaney....the bu66ers have just pooed on me car ...and I only washed it 10 minutes ago.And early this morning I could hear this weird noise outside..it was only a ****$ehawk with his beak trying to open my wheelie bin.....bloomin cheek..!(:O)
it's brightening up actually Vin

<stirs cauldron & mutters>
oh dear, that's a shame for you

> > > > >
Afternoon all just got back from the dentist - had a clean and polish, feel good now. Hope you are all ok. The weather here has brightened up after a wintery start. Just listening to Vin's Summer Sun. I wish it was here. Nice warm days, doors wide open, sitting in the garden with me Baileys and a book.
As you know Robi I'm no great gardener but I do have a lovely honeysuckle which comes back every year, I must be doing something right cos I only cut it back when it gets straggly.Just waiting for a good day so that I can get out and sort my back garden. My gardener wont be coming this year as he has another job and I can't expect Tbag to do it as he has a massive garden of his own and it's not that sort of friendship Lol.
Well that's me done nothing exciting to tell you. Wont be going out until Friday this week. I suppose I could do some cleaning!!
See yer later 'gater(s) :o)

Show this to your lads, Woofy, I think they'll be impressed - or they'll say why is it that cats always seem to get the better deal... I was happy with my garden hose until I saw that...

If you're going to be posh, Vinny, you'd better learn to drink wine. It's all a matter of finding one that agrees with you, and then you make up the terminology later and go around saying things like What a presumptuous little wine - I find myself... oddly amused! ...and stuff. Now, which one... oh I know just the one to start with to break you in gently, here, you simply must try this one

Ha ha ha Robinia, guess what happened, I decided not to crack a joke about the rest of us being stranded on a desert island with Clive Owen and you on one with Elton John (referring back to your dream a while back), but I did want to find some image or other pertaining to desert islands to make you laugh - and look what happens on search hit page four: you're meant to be!

Ha ha ha ha ha aaahha haa a ... I can't stop laughing...! Robinia! It's funny!

Afternoon all...a bright and sunny one but hot sunshine ..which I crave ...is sadly lacking .I keep looking at the garden and looking is about all I can summon up the energy for until it warms up properly .Not much going on my corner of the world ... Look out Vinny I'm right above you .....
Bang thats got the bu66er shaney hehe..!(:O)
oh ha ha ha ha...yes Kit....hilarious

actually it is hilarious but it hurts when I laugh today which make laughter being the best medicine a bit of a contradiction....anyway, you're gonna be so sick when I'm lolling on a tropical island with Elton's best buddies pah!

oh yuk Jude, have you had your brain rattled?...that looks like the both of us with overgrown jungles this year then if mine has his back condemned....if I find a gardener who's not fussy about how many dunkings his teabag needs I'll let you (and shaney) know.....

<mmm, but not if he's a hunk...every biddy for herself>
Too late Vinny ...I've just sent this pair in your direction ....

Just when I had finally stopped laughing at Robinia & Elton... she shows me that cat. I think my neighbour thinks I'm going mad, he hears uncontrollable laughter from me often enough. BTW Robinia did you see there's a "Ribena" asking about the last line of a poem, in the main Arts & Literature category, but it's not you is it? I saw our Neti discussing alias-clones in Suggs, you'd think she could send one of hers over to chat with her old pals over here ;-)

And while we're sending stuff, Shaney do you think you could send one of your tiaras over to my sister, that might help her husband find her at the shopping mall, even now post re-dyeing of hair. Did you wear tiaras back when it was chic <whenever that was>? One of my oldest friends has a daughter who calls herself "the tiara feminist" and who keeps an impressive collection of them on her bathroom wall - and I'm told she wears them, too. (Don't ask me what a tiara feminist is, there seems to be fifty different kinds of feminism today, when one would do the trick)

yes shaney that's lovely now will you send it to my sis.

what a singer

hahahaha shaney.its jude and robinia queuing outside birds waiting fer the custard tarts...hehe.!(:O)
sigh... good evening and good night... dentist replaced a filling that keeps falling out, for the third time... then an hour or so spent unclogging the drainpipes under the waste disposal. You see why I'd sooner be in Sicily?
Never mind Jno ....at least we had whispering Dan tonight . One of all of the five programmes I have marked for this weeks viewing .You've got me at it now ..I spent more time watching his hands whirling than I did on the bulidings ! That wooden church in Russia ..wow ...When I saw that I immediately thought ..Dr Zhivago ...I'm sure there was scene in that at the beginning with a similar one ....I digress
Yes Kit I never go out without my tiara ..I even wear it in the bath and always whilst gardening ..it stops me getting tangled up in the ivy .
I've actually been to that one, shaney... in summer, so I didn't have to go on a sleigh with wolves snapping at my rear end... it's beautiful, all wood and no nails; some say the tsar blinded the builder when he'd finished to make sure he never built anything as good again. The Chinese one was new to me - imagine all those pillars just being decoration, but he shook one and it wobbled...
Morning all - long time no see - I've been busy in Chatterbank (ahem!) and my computer keeps crashing after 5 mins- so I'm losing the will!!

Hope you are all well and happy - my new pills are making absolutely no difference to me, I'm sure it's the wrong diagnosis - hey ho, will struggle on!
Good morning everyone hope you are well. I have just been to Sainsburys where I used to work just in time for a wine and cheese tasting. The checkout manager was giving alll the cashiers a tasting and they ask me to join in. They had just had the result of the Mystery Shopper report (yes they still do that)and they had achieved 100%. I don't remember that happening when I was there so that must say something about me Lol!! Must say I am now pleased not to have to go to work. Took me a while to get used to it!
Shaney who's whispering Dan then. What have I been missing?
No ..I don't think I would have liked to go round that jno ..it all looked a bit precarious clinging onto the side of that mountain ..I get dizzy on a stepladder .
This is Whispering Dan Jude ....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dan_Cruickshank
His latest programme is Dan Cruickshank's Adventures in Architecture.
Nice sunny day here but that bloomin' chilly wind ..I shall polish my tiara and go and see what the High Street has to offer dreckly....hope you are all well ..summer's on it's way .....hopefully .
