I may be looking at a prolonged period in hospital.

I've only been in hospital twice once as a child and again for a two night stay 20 odd years ago.

I'm looking for tips for how to make the stay as comfortable as possible.

My biggest concern is do hospitals have free wi-fi????

Talking about hospitals......does anyone know how you evacuate an unconscious patient in a bed from the second floor during a fire? Lift use isn't allowed.....and there would have been two patients in the bed if the fire hadn't been contained......the other patient was conscious but had no legs.
???

I think I might just take 600mg Ibuprofen and monitor the situation ;-/
MrG was coming around from surgery....the chap in the next bed was a double amputee.....the fire alarms went off and the nurse said if we had to evacuate would I put the other man on MrG's bed and wheel them to the assembly point....it wasn't necessary and I never thought to ask if I had to bump the bed down the stairs.....
For the best I think, Eccles.....off to wallpaper some more so I'll leave you in peace.....or pieces.....xxx
Tie the sheets and abseil.....
LOL eccles do you wish you never asked now xx

Bernie, I can only wonder what response I would have got if I had posted in Chatterbank!

In short I think I need to continue loading up on ebooks, investigating a dongle and not revealing which NHS facility has admitted me, heaven only knows which well meaning soles may wish to visit........
well whatever you're going in for hope all goes well and a speedy recovery xx

Soles? Perhaps I meant souls........
Absolutely my sentiments too, bernie.

Minty will bring in a 1litre bottle of X.O. - that should keep you still on the trolley, paralytic in fact.
:0) xx
I always take my tablet in with me with loads of films, books and daft games such as Connect 4. I also take in something to "do" with my hands such as crochet or knitting. Last time I was in I took an exercise book and plotted the outline for a book.
Ear plugs are another essential. There is nothing more annoying than being kept awake by a snorer.
I also take in a small travel mirror and a travel hairdrier.
I would agree with Gness - don;t let anyone touch you unless you have seen them wash their hands.
Do NOT be afraid to query things with the staff. I have an allergy to one painkiller and if it is administered I go into full blown anaphylactic shock. Despite having a red allergy band clearly visible on my wrist and warnings plastered all over my notes, I can think of at least 3 occasions this year when staff tried to administer this drug. Be alert.
Good luck
Oh heck....not Chatterbank??? Now look at the bother Minty's got us into........☺
You may find that your hospital has a free wi-fi hotspot provided by an ISP. Ours does, but then you have to remember your blinking btinfinity details to get onto their system.

You might want to look up the website to see if it gives you any info on what facilities they do and dont have.
No free wifi in fact very little chance of any internet connection at all.
You need to get a dongle and hope there is enough signal to get a connection.
But then again I do not think hospitals allow patients to bring computers into the building , you can't even have a mobile phone let alone a computer.
Blame me G...I get the blame for everything....s'no fair....!! :0(
Allowed mobile phone and kindles in Edinburgh and laptops...

But ..no WiFi.....
its ok mm have a cuddle xx
