when OH was in hospital, eccles, we could buy (from machines dotted round the hospital), a credit card sort of thing to give access to TV, telephone service and so on. Each one was valid 3 days from commencement. TBH he hardly used it at all - spend most of his time chatting to (or muttering with) the other blokes on the ward. You should be given a leaflet about this sort of thing. He couldn't use his mobile in case it interfered with critical lifemaintaining equipment :-(

I can't remember anything other than the locker for security, Eccles...there may be now...but it's not always easy to get staff to bring things when you need them.....x
... and eccles, I wouldn't leave anything of value in the hospital. No suspicion on the staff, but people can and do wander in and out all the time. I brought all OH's valuables home (including his wedding ring).
Hmmm, 600mg Ibuprofen really is looking most attractive.......
I don't want to go into hospital and i really don't want spend a few weeks bored rigid without connectivity to the outside world. Fingers crossed I'll be able to check out where I'll be sent and make some preparations.
