I really really fancy a steak & kidney pie. What's the next best thing to home made? Plenty of excuses for not doing my own at the moment! (individual please, not family size....so sad).

*curtseys for visible Neti and bangs head on television set getting up* Well biddies you led me astray and I bought an extra pair of identical sandals - and I have yet to find the kind of shoe I should have been buying in the first place. But seriously though thanks for the encouragement - it may be twenty years before they come into fashion again and as I don't care whether they are or not I think it's sensible to buy now. Made me feel like Ingmar Bergman - he bought the same cardigan over and over again and two at a time.

For the past week the city has been one big parade of A-level graduates partying on open-sided lorries - they do that in the UK as well? I always wave back, it's like a volume button, makes them shout and cheer even louder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdHlWFz7oaw

Those were lovely photos, Grumpy (better today?), thank you for posting them:) Where's Shaney?? Woofy hope you're having a wonderful time with your sister. You too have a wonderful time jno - this is a great song to be singing while cruising the Rhine (sorry bout the bad audio but this is great any which way) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5fgsWO7Ccs
<gives regal wave to Lorelei>
Have a good time Jno..
That was a good song Kit I enjoyed that. I think I would've gone for a different colour shoes but if you're happy that's all that matters.
Don't know about EE Neti Never watch it
Going to sit outside now and do a few sudokus
You have a good time too Woofy I'm sorry I missed where you said you were seeing your sister.

See yer later 'gater(s)
swetineti rushes in - Am almost visible again!

Kit my father-in-law loved new suits but always bought grey, same size same style. There were 100's in his closet after he died. To be fair, he was the bodygurard to 3 foreign secretaries and had to look smart but not obvious, so was literally a "grey man".

Was just thinking of Kit and Lottie´s shoes and they do look comfy. I sometimes buy 2 of a thing if I like it, then the next year wonder why I bothered!!!!!
I know what you mean Neti... and when Mr N says "Look at this, you've hardly used it!" you can't very well say "But I've used the other one!" can you ha ha. BTW Neti you visited Storkyrkan, the biggest church in Gamla Stan, didn't you? I think you and Mr N mentioned the statue of St George, and that's in Storkyrkan. But there's an outdoors replica so I'm not sure anymore which one you were talking about. Any-hoooo... if you were in Storkyrkan, that's where our crown princess will be getting married next Saturday, just thought you might like to write that down in your photo album:) (Her sister Madeleine was to be married too, later this year, but broke her engagement off =:0)

Glad you liked the song Jude, I hated it when I was a kid and now I love it:) Your brother could sing it methinks.

Oh look, a recliner chair, just for me, and one for my knitting yarn, why thank you kind pixies. Could somebody turn the telly on for me please I can't reach the remote. Robi said it needs warming up and my programme starts at 7.30 http://i50.tinypic.com/a1k3e9.gif
...and if you're wondering about all the pieces of shattered glass I think I forgot to mention I broke the 40inch hD 3D tv when I got up from my neticurtsey - ooops.
Help anyone. Sarumite sends me the xword but this week it is stuck in Picasso photo viewer and I can´t print if off or send it anywhere. What can I do, it's driving me mad!!!
s'O:K I've managed to download the xword (7hrs late)

Oh Kit I´ll look for that on the internet, but to be fair, there was a St George everywhere we went!
bah, just when you think you're all packed and ready, a crown starts wobbling and you have to make an emergency visit to the dentist. And I was only there yesterday. Couldn't I just throw away the crowns and have a republic?

Would it suit you jno?? Have a happy trip!

Neti - no EE last night
Jude - yes, Talk Talk...it was Tiscali before. My neighbour had her phone on Talk Talk & had nothing but bother. Think it's time to shop around.

Have a good time jno...does anyone else want to booger off to foreign lands, I might as well wave everyone off at the same time? (son leaves Tues...family follow on in the next few weeks)

oh poo, I've managed to miss every lotto number too
Oh so he is really going then? What can I say? So you'll be jetting off to Oz for jollydays then!
yes, remember you'll have to type upside down when posting in AB from there. Next winter maybe?
What a silly boy, Robi :( xxx
hello all, fast, early morning pop in to give you my gen.
My DH went in in acute kidney failure the friday before last and was whisked into the local specialist unit about 40 miles from me. Happily the exciting bit is over and his Maker has decided he can do without his presence for a while longer. Recovery though is going to take a while. He's only got one kidney (long story) so this complicates matters
My sis who is a complete star is staying, as I told you, to keep an eye on the dogs so i can hospital visit daily but I won't have a lot of net time.
I will catch up on here when i can though....haven't had time to click the links today but the cheerful chat is a great morale boost.
laters all
woofy
Hello Woofy. So sorry to hear about your husband and hope that he recovers well. Take care and I will be thinking about you all. That includes your star sister. x
Dear woofy, I am so sorry to hear about DH. He has been ailing for a long time hasn't it? glad you are not alone as I know how close you and DH are. Give him a cyber kiss from me and that'll make him improve rapidly cos he won't want more! Keep us informed and I wish you both well. x
sorry to hear that, woofgang, do feel free to vent to biddies from time to time. (Well, not me as I am heading off for a week of heavy rain, according to the forecasts.) I'm glad the worst is over, it's just the slow, boring recovery bits ahead now. Good luck to you both and your sister.
