does anyone know where I can buy maple sugar, cream and butter from a uk mail order company? I know I can get it straight from Canada and the US but the p and p and customs make this very expensive.

Morning all. Its wet n windy. Staying in.
Morning Neti and all
Same here .No rain as yet but the east wind is howling and it's cold,a
huge contrast with yesterday so sunbathing on hold. Your pool and patio area is lovely.
Hope everyone's well.
it started sunny and mild here but has now become cool and windy. Not wet yet but the rain map shows one band of rain across southern Scotland and another one swirling round Normandy. It doesn't look as though they're coming my way but Accu insists there will be showers.
Good morning campmates. Owing to a lack of sunshine and a severe drop in temperature I've had to turn down the volume on the cheerfulness, tut.
Oh well, I've a list as long as my arm of things to do today/things to do soon/things to put off 'til one Sunday next week.

It's such a long time since I've seen the boys in person and they grow up so quickly. They don't sit still long enough for facetime to focus ..just look at little man snowflake :)

lol Robi
Haha Robi
I have a tache too now!!
Mr N has taken down the pergola thing as it was too windy!
Haha that's brilliant.
I would post a pic of Mr S with his new haircut and beard trim but unfortunately he now looks like someone whose mug should be on a wanted poster. That's my new career as a hairdresser up the swanny.
Hahaha shaney will he ever forgive you?
I'm desperate to cut my hair but cant face Mr N and his clippers! May trot out tomorrow to see what hairdressers are open
I'm not taking the risk just to sit out and have a coffee yet. I haven't done 8 weeks in strict lockdown for nothing!! Sounds as though Germany is getting a second wave.
Morning all...still bloomin chilly and windy but the sun's shining. Has Mr S revived the pudding bowl cut shaney? :)
I think I'm going to be changing my AB name to Rapunzel soon.

That's how I feel about things neti. I said to a friend recently about getting this far and not wanting to jeopardise things. I confess last night I did shed a couple of tears after Boris' speech out of sheer exasperation, anger and sadness....and total confusion.

Maybe a little online retail therapy will get me back up.....now what would I like but don't really need today?

Good morning all. I think Boris said what he could last night....detail comes today. Technically the thing about meeting people outside but keeping a social distance could always have happened, and the only one exercise outing a day was never enforcible. Permission to drive further is new and I am looking forward to going for a drive after the first few days are past and the numpties who are so excited by driving again have had their bumps and scrapes. Its been particularly noticeable here that there have been many less motorbikes on the roads as well. Its bright here but cold and windy.
Morning all
Haha Mr S looks as if he's had a fright.
Bloomin'cold here with the wind although it's bright and sunny.
I'm staying alert and staying alive by staying in.I expect Picky will have to go back to work soon if they can sort out the rules they need to abide by.He's been doing deliveries of food and medicines for the volunteer scheme which he signed up for to keep a bit busy but he's itching to go back to proper work.

Well we (neighbours) have talked over fences, hedges and at a distance on the front etc for the entire time of lockdown. My fancy man, lol, knocked at my front door to see how I was doing a few days ago and moved back to the gate and stood chatting a while. He's lovely about 87 I think. His partner's a bit miz I believe. The neighbours have a friend round when it's warm and they sit apart in the garden.
I wouldn't want everywhere to suddenly become busy, I quite like the slower, quieter pace, but I'd also like things to ease.

as long as planes still can't fly above my backyard, fine. So far the only change seems to be that I should wear a mask in shops or on public transport, which I have been doing anyway (or would have if I'd used any public transport recently) - but I can't remember whether the former rule was to wear one, or not wear one, or just do what I thought best.

I suspect much more detail will still be hard to enforce, while people debate whether the man they have in is a builder, a plumber or a gardener.
Question Author
Jno there was no former rule and their doesn't seem to be one now...just advice. "They will also include measures that were unlikely to be effective when the virus was so widespread that full stay-at-home measures were required, but that may now have some effect as the public increase the number of social contacts - including, for example, advising the use of face coverings in enclosed public areas such as on public transport and introducing stricter restrictions on international travellers."
After much discussion I've decided I'm opening my garden to the public next week. Well it's ridiculous, I can go out, passing people who are probably walking 2 or 3 abreast to meet a friend in a public park but not in my garden which is 38 yards long, 10 yards wide. If anyone can find a public place that will give us that much space to ourselves once the hordes swoop in they are welcome to show me where it is.
They can be as strict as they like with international travel. About three years would be good. :)
What a load of tosh this all is although that's not exactly what I said while watching them waffling in parliament and then again this evening.
I can meet a relative across the road in the park but they can't come and sit in our garden.Shall I walk across the road with the tea on a tray? How ridiculous.People can now drive as far and wide as they wish (in England) and where will a lot of 'em be heading ? The coast of course and other beauty spots where it will be very difficult to enforce the rules. So the buck has been passed to the public. If you catch it and die then tough, you should have been more "alert". They should have been more alert and had their eye on the ball a lot earlier then we wouldn't be in this situation and many lives could have been saved.
My brother rang up and said we can go for a drive tomorrow but with social distancing. He's going to tie me on the roof rack and Mr S can run behind.I had to laugh at him. It's either that or have a nervous breakdown:)
thanks, woofgang. There must be some rules that are laws, if police are still arresting people for insufficient distancing, but I don't think I've seen a policeman these last six weeks, except whizzing by with siren going.

I am thinking Waaitrose first thing in the morning if I wake up in time.
It's gone crazy here. Were allowed to drink at bars restaurants keeping the safe distance but of course the bars were packed . I've stayed at home and am it rushing anywhere. The government has issued a warning to the bar owners and said it will be heavy fines if it happens today! Still cant find a hairdresser. Well I can but dont want to pay their ridiculous prices!
Oh my niece is becoming Mayor of Gloucester next month!
