I'm reading a history mystery and in the book the protagonist is invited to look around the house of a lawyer .It's stacked to the gunnels with various artefacts statues ,paintings etc .It reminded me of a museum somewhere in London that was in a private house but I can't remember the name of it .It's bugging me :)
Any ideas as to what it's called ?

I never thought of that Jno ..these long thread badges .Of course they must be have been awarded for Biddy blathering in various sections .

Ooh that'll be nice for you Neti .I think we're still on Windows 1.Well it seems like it .
I have to take the bellows to this machine sometimes and if the wind is in the wrong direction you never know what will happen .I'm tempted to kick it at times .But it's like me ,it plods along !
Hope you're feeling better ,you too Woofy and that you've recovered from your alcoholic druggy haze Jno :)
Oight Oight lovelies ..sleep toight .
Good moaning all...it's minus 3C! it's probably been a lot lower, I thought it had snowed when I first looked out.
I'm on Windows 7, Firefox 11.0. which might as well be in Chinese as far as I'm concerned, I don't know the difference between one or another.

Of course, that's the reason for all the mystery awards jno! Well done...have another badge

Hope everyone's gathering speed...I keep feeling a bit iffy myself, I hope it's not some virus building up.
If any of us think things aren't so good spare a thought for the owner of this, it's his permanent home...it happened at the weekend very near to where my sis & bro in law moor theirs (they don't live on it). They don't yet know why it happened...

btw Jude, I'm pleased that wasn't a parting speech, you had me worried for a moment. I got my cheap lights from b&m.
Good morning biddies, wet and chilly here (I know, I know, you'd all love it)

woofy how are you today, hopefully sorted by now and running the heaths with the dogs.

Jude hope the old wrist is improving but cold weather hurts doesn't it?

Thanks about windows 7, hija has it on hers and I am completely lost on it, can only do the Biddies. I don't think I really want a new computer, nought wrong with this one, but am not going for the posh ones that he likes, ie sony vaio, will stay with the common and garden ones when I am able to go out to look at them. Am going to medico manana so will endeavour to trot to village after and and see how I get one. Still don't feel 100%, and why am I taking antibios when it is viral??

Tell me on windows 7 if you type in google search nothing happens and I have to look in the left hand corner for what I want, or is this just the spanish version? Most confusing.
Shaney I kicked our desktop tower once when it was so slow and my foot went through the dvd drawer, didn't dare tell Mr N so tried to wedge it, but he eventually found it and I was as surprised as he was, no idea how it happened!!! He mended it :-)
I think you misunderstand what "reboot" means, neti.

They've removed the foot-powered option from Windows 7, anyway, much as with sewing machines.
good morning all, recovery is slow. I used to throw these things off and bounce back but this one is hanging around. I was supposed to have a man coming today to sort out my blocked gutter and he hasn't turned up. Grump grump.
slow recovery here too woofy, getting fed up now.
I'm in lala land, dreaming I live in Claridges, isn't it fabulous? sighs
This is an official notice that LoftyLottie is alive and well (apart from aches, pains, IBS, and now toothache!! (i.e. as per usual) and still living in Norfolk.
I logged in the other evening to catch up and was so tired I got half way through and left without even saying oight, oight, which I am ashamed of. Going to finish catching up, but from what I remember, I hope Neti that you are getting better and behaving. You should be resting and being waited on and not washing floors, washing, etc. Naughty, naughty.
Congratulations to Queen Mother Robi!! How wonderful - another royal baby on the way!! Hope your tum has improved Woofy. Now here I go to catch up................ xxx
nice gutter man turned up. My gutters are now clear but my flashing is lifting so he's coming back in the spring.
Hate to whinge but I still feel tired
Hi lottie, glad you are still with us!

Oh woofy, just keep warm, I feel like a wet rag too, just want to get some energy and do things.

Yes Claridges is lovely Robinia and so is the manager :).It's a good programme There's another running atm about Westminster Abbey which is good too. It's got another one of my favourites in it .Ptolemy Dean .Dishy architect .
Whatever happened that poor mans boat . It looks as if the whole top has disappeared .
Thanks Lottie...he'd never shown any interest in having children before, maybe he just wasn't with the right person.

They're not sure what caused it shaney. It's back up but imagine how awful it must be inside, it'll stink. Everyone local has helped, local laundrette are doing all they can for his things. I don't know where he's living but he has a lady friend who comes to stay so maybe with her. One of these is bro-in-law :)

Oh dear, ordering a big dose of 'god help me' (as my mum used to call it) for those feeling poorly.
Question Author
Poor chap .I hope he soon gets warm and dry again .

All I get is bad news .No wonder I feel limp .
Email from a friend in Germany this morning ( one of MiL's old cronies )She's broken her ankle and she told me about another poor old chap who was a friend of my in laws who lost his wife recently ,fell over and has been in hopital for three weeks .
Then I got a letter and card from another friend who lives in Diss and her husband has been diagnosed with Non Hodgkins and is having chemo .
Always at Christmas !
oh dear shaney... no matter what time of year, there's always someone going through it.

Hope everyone's been staying upright today, the frost hasn't budged. I haven't budged from home either, I just couldn't face going out so I decked a few more halls. Come 6th January I'm sooooo gonna regret it. :)
Question Author
It hasn't budged here either .So cold .
I'm going to budge along to the sofa dreckly with a cuppa & some buttered toast and watch Britains Best Bakery .
Tomorrow I am definitely going to shift myself into gear .
Mumble ..mumble :)
Haven't read all the way back but so sorry to hear all the sad news from friends and relations. It always feels worse at this time of year.
We went out of the house to tescos. I was fine till I walked past the smelly hot chicken counter which stomach did not like at all. Didn't embarrass myself though. Got home to find the tumble dryer, which has been ailing for a while, has finally fallen in a heap so urgent online shopping needed.
Snap shaney, I am going to get myself into gear tomorrow, this cannot go on. Have to see medico at 11am then will trot around the village! I'm sure I'll be OK if only I can get up enough energy!
There must be magic in toast. I have just eaten two whole slices which is about as much as I had eaten in total since saturday.
