London Museum

I'm reading a history mystery and in the book the protagonist is invited to look around the house of a lawyer .It's stacked to the gunnels with various artefacts statues ,paintings etc .It reminded me of a museum somewhere in London that was in a private house but I can't remember the name of it .It's bugging me :)
Any ideas as to what it's called ?

I want to ask you (or any of you who can help) about your plantar fassywatsit. I'm pretty sure that's what's giving me hell. The whole heel area on both feet is so very painful inside and burning and sore to the touch outside. It's even spreading up the back of my legs (achilles?). Did you have any particular treatment? I've had it to a lesser degree before but this is so much worse.

plantar fasciitis, that got me a few years ago. It felt as if my arch was collapsing and needed some arch support. This turned out to be exactly wrong: what I needed was heel support, which in effect stretches the arch outward a bit rather than pushing up under it. Cure was a steroid injection, which the doc said might hurt a bit - it hurt a lot but only for a split second. Anyway,it did the trick and I haven't had it again. I wear heel support in my shoes when I go out, though not in slippers etc around the home.

I'm not sure I recognise the other symptoms - going up the leg - but that may just be the effect of limping.

I had it quite a while ago (about 8 years) and cured it completely by wearing crocs, not the cheapo croc alikes but the real ones. It wasn't really bad, painful burning in both heels and a bit up the achilles on one leg. I still mostly wear crocs but can wear normal shoes again when I want to.

Morning all, I got up this am and found Mr n reading our posts, he jumped like mad when he heard me. It'll be that secret lover jno!!!


Just got the bus to ibiza (2€!! one way) to renew my free bus pass which I did and it is still free at the moment but we will have to pay 50c per journey in the future, which is ok, having been free for the couple of years.

Beautiful day today, wore two thinnih jumpers today and was sweltering! Just bought a 2nd hand digital small camera off the ibiza for sale site and it's OK, will do till I get to England and can afford something better.

Oh well, better get on, poor Robi, my friend has this and has special insoles for her shoes, sorr cannot help, google it!

It's turned out nice here too, blue skies and sunny, not what the met are saying. Look outside poeple! I 'spect they can't afford to have a window cleaner after spending all those billions on computers that tend to get it wrong on a regular basis.

Thanks for your help folks...yes, I'm walking a bit strangely but that's down to the screaming hips, haha...what a wreck. I'm reluctant to go to the docs at the moment, what with the surgery being full of snotty noses and people with their heads in a bucket and all that. I've been 'invited' to have a bp check too. A vet, that's what I need.

I'm not getting rid of much out of the cubbies and drawers but at least the rubbish is tidier.

Yes I have to go for a check up next week, thyroid, BP, diabetes, brain so will make an appointment for Wed, whcih means I have to get up one morning at 7 to go for blood tsts which I hate!!!

Bluddy biddies, there was I full of the joys and I leaned over 1 meter to plug in the iron ( I try not to bend at the knees, takes too long to get up again) and snap my hip went, now one side of my bum aches like mad! grr!

Glad some of you have blue skies .Grey skies here .
Picky came to get his car so he's taken Mr S to the hospital .It didn't pass the MOT and he had to have some work done on it .I'm not fond of hanging around the hospital so he's done me a favour ,but he'll want feeding :)
Ooh painful heels Robinia .Ouch
I haven't had plantar whatnot so am not much help. I have arthritis in the heel bones though which is painful and shoots up me leg sometimes .Same thing as nodes on the fingers basically .I hope it soon eases off .

Nothing exciting here otherwise .My knitting pattern came so I'm sorting through wool and stuff .
Shame you have no wool shops Robinia .We have two in Yarmouth and apart from this new one that's just opened down here QD and Wilko sell wool and the soft furnishing shop .Then theres a bookshop come woolshop where she does workshops
Haha ..see what I did there ...shop shop :)

Oh that reminds me, I was in a 1€ shop and came upon a whole wool section! the likes of which I haven't seen for ages, there was also a biddy ferreting around looking for more grey wool, I had a look in honour of all you biddies, but moved on rapidly to kitchen lighters and make-up and things more interesting!

It's gawn grey here now...
shaney we have a wilkos and a wool shop in town (I think) but that means the cost of getting there and making sure you buy enough wool or it's another trip...yarn isn't cheap so it all adds up. We had a great wool shop 5 mins away who would put it aside for a month for you to collect as needed...there was almost always some more if you were short or you'd save money if you didn't need it all. Dunelm (short bus ride...or a hop skip and a jump for Jude, haha) have some but not a very extensive selection.

Yes it was Robi. The lady that worked in there also worked with me at the paper shop further down the road until I went to Sainsburys. Sadly she is the friend that died of VascularDementia this year. She was only 63. I used to get my wool from there when I ws into knitting. Not any more though.
I've been busy finding a house and contents insurance and I've managed it. Got one who gives you discount on line and also Nectar points.
Off now for a cuppa tea and a dose I have a rotten headache. I think it's my new specs I had yesterday.
Hope all goes well for Mr S Shaney. It must be worrying for you .
And Robi look after your feet. Get something to soothe them.

Another bunch of good wishes for Mr S. We have spent the day lolling around doing naff all and its been nice. We had hot lunch (cold chicken with really good potato wedges, they are tesco finest, king Edwards just dusted with salt and pepper and olive oil and then you shove them in the oven) and most of the decs are down....shower next I think.

Jose luis can go stuff himself jno, my Mr N has won a weekend in a posh hotel in Barcelona with flights, so am pleased. It will do us good to get away (although we argued like mad on the Russian trip!) Oh I feel like jno now flying hither and thither!

Now own up which biddy from Derby is now following me on Twitter, I mean it has to be one of you, no one else would bother surely, although Brian Cox (Professor to you lot!) tweets me quite often (the fact that he tweets 1,000's at the same time is irrelevant!) as does Obama!

Am off to decide which clothes I am going to pack! No it hasn't been booked yet!
