Why is it necessary to whow it? It can't be vital to the story? OK Sp points out below that there was an "uproar" over a gay bedroom scene. My question is, why must we have it on TV soaps at all. We all know about bandit bedroom activities, why is it vital to show it in TV before the watershed? come to that why are soaps exempt from normal watershed rules anyway?
//gays with the disease having sex with straights spread it into the straight world//
if a man has sex with another straight man, then that straight man must be gay, if a woman has sex with another straight man, then that straight woman must be gay.
Think that you have your terminology wrong JL........and by the way, no pun intended, STDs of all sorts can be carried through straight or otherwise - even alllowing for your myopic definitions.
Shows how zoonosis can take place, the transfer of a virus from an animal to a human through hunting activities not sticking their phalluses up some gay African.
It is tedious in the extreme that there are a few men on this site who do their damnedest to derail threads about 'gay' issues and turn them into 'gay=AIDS' threads.
Not everyone who is gay will contract AIDS; not everyone who has contracted AIDS is gay...........grow up and accept that, joeluke.
Which would you take more seriously, an international charity underpinned by the Director the UNAIDs programme or the Daily Mirror, a tacky down market tabloid.
I rest my case. The very thought that the Mirror article should be taken seriously is risible.
Sorry, I've just read that it is believed (although not proven) that the disease is from chimps, passed through to humans, the same way as any virus is spread. where it changes and adapts which causes it harmful to humans. I opologise for my last comment as i have always believed it was the british army raping african women that introduced it more wide spread over there, and their lack of contraceptives making it more prevalent. This however, does not mean it is a gay disease by no means!!
JL we are not denying that there is a high risk in unprotected sex between gay men (young gay or bi men), but you need to recognise that the disease can be transmitted woman to woman, and woman or male to heterosexual. Humans to Welsh sheep I do not know......
You are too sweeping with your comments and hence it comes across as homophobic and that is the argument against your narrow view.
