When has a female trousered knee become a sex object?
I don't suppose a sexual thought went through this chaps head, show business people are very touchy feely 'lovey-dovey' people anyway.

/// I suspect your story is from a number of years ago ///
Of course it was, in an age where there were more important issues for persons to get their knickers in a twist over, but then if a female took offence regarding what she considered unwelcome intimacy, it was soon put an end to by a sharp word or a slap across the cheek.
/// and it wasn’t in the same circumstances. ///
No of course it wasn't during a Graham Norton type of show, a show where sexual innuendoes are acceptable and expected in mixed company.

So he puts his hand on her knee and she doesn't like it. She removes it and he does it again. She should have told him not to do it again but she didn't. Why? It was the ideal opportunity to let him and others know that it was unacceptable. While we keep allowing things like this to happen and not say anything, they will keep happening!
How far does she need to go in order to tactfully, and politely let him know that his gesture was unacceptable and made her uncomfortable? Surely removing his hand once should be enough? In a situation where another woman would have had no issues, and may gave joined in, it's clear she didn't...and that needs to be respected.
andres I will tell you where I stand. I hate all of those things from strangers and even from people I don't know very well. That is my right. I really can get why in such a public circumstance and on that show, Claire Foy might have felt that it was better not to make any comment. AOG I do think that you have a point about how society views such behaviour to men as opposed to women....that doesn't make it right. Men should have as much choice and control over their bodies and personal space as women expect to have.
She was polite and persistent and clearly didn't want to make too much of a fuss on TV, which could easily have turned into quite a media storm. It's her knee and she gets a say on who touches it.
The sweeping statement that show business folk are touchy-feely, lovey dovey folk is a sweeping generalisation.

Much has been researched and various matters taken in consideration beneficial towards the female of the species.
But not so regarding the male of the species, nature has given men the need to seek out the female so has to propagate the human race.
It is only through civilisation and certain controls that most men have leant to control their built in emotions, while at the same time the female has done so much to try and attract the attentions of the male.
As in most of these recent cases the women have thrown themselves at the weaker/less in control of their bodies men, in pursuit of their careers or to be 'pally' with their idols. To some men they are like candy in a candy shop.
