So England's wicket keeper has found the need to announce that he is gay, does that mean the others will now have to announce they are heterosexual?

In the scheme of things why do homosexuals think it is so important to announce their sexuality to all and sundry?

/// He said he could no longer bear to lie about his sexuality. ///

/// "I'm comfortable with who I am - and happy to say who I am in public," ///

/// I feel it is right to be out in the open about my sexuality. If more people do it, the more acceptable it will become. That must be a good thing. ///

Do they think that they are that important, and that anyone is at all interested in their sexuality? I know that I am not.

It's not even called "Gay" Pride now, is it?

It's just "Pride".
i'm not like etk. i have never had a gay man ram anything down my throat.

not that i feel left out or anything, each to their own an all that.
Neither have I.

Well, I don't think so.

I mean, logically, none of them would have been gay, right?

Unless they were lapsed.

But then ...

Okay, now I'm not sure.
pa_ul,

If your innuendo to me was to find out if I was some kind of "closet homosexual" - no, sorry, I'm just a boring old heterosexual who has only ever been "turned on" by the female form - I'm male.

As for the other inane comments aimed at me, no, there's no way I'd assiciate myself with the unnatural acts mob, no matter how much "Pride" they, and other misguided individuals, may have in their heinous activities.

"Pride"? More like "Shame".
oh dear etk, did you feel it necessary to announce to the world that you are a heterosexual ?
I, too, am only turned on by the female form ETY and seem to give rather less of my time over to thinking about 'hairy ar$ed' blokes (your quote, I believe) and what they get up to, than you do..........There's nowt so queer as folk.......
Aww, come on, ETK ...

You don't have to "associate" ... you just join in the fun.

eyethenkyew demnonstrating that homophobia is alive, well and as disgusting as it ever was!

If you want shame, look at your views and opinions wty, they to me are shameful.
alright ETY, I wasn't suggesting anything, I just said I wondered! There's no need to ram your heterosexuality down my throat!!
I too am male and have only ever been turned on by females, but I don't get all aggitated and defensive at the thought of two strapping young men getting all amorous with each other!
On the other hand, if we didn't have a variety of opinions, including those with which we disagree, then we'd never get a debate going.

I suppose we can still be nice to each other, even when we disagree, yes ?

Maybe you should watch the Graham Norton show or perhaps Alan Carr or Paul O' Grady who manage to accept "It's only a joke" line without classing them homophobic comments.

But there are some who wish to destroy all humour by labelling it either racist, sexist, homophobic.

But then that is their problem.
anotheoldgit, I know Graham Norton and I know what he would have thought of your remark.
okay, i have to be honest aog.
that post doesn't make any sense.

Then he is living a lie because that is not how he shows himself to be on television, I have heard much worse cracks than mine, made by himself and to him by the guests on his show.
Aog what you said was still homophobic whatever way you look at it and I will still call it as it is for as long as I need to
Hmmm ...

On THAT point, I do agree with AOG.

Graham N, at least on telly, is a big one for being crudely explicit, and then saying "It's just a joke".

If he is not the same in real life, then isn't he portraying an artificial image?

And aren't we saying that it's wrong to put forward an artificial image?

I'm a bit confused over this one.
And I remember Julian Clary joking about his first job as "a packer in a fudge factory".

Well, the term "fudge packer" is really offensive ... so ...

... are we to label Julian Clary as homophobic.

Or ... was it ... just ... a ... joke ... ?
Graham Norton trades in innuendos and jokes about sex. They may not be to everyone's taste but neither are they homophobic.

There is a lot of difference between calling your imaginary friend "Everard" as Larry Grayson did suggesting that men shouldn't turn there back on someone who is gay. The implication being that the gay man will try and flump them up the arse.
there should be an 'and' in there somewhere, sorry bit tired today.
