Lavender Oil

Can anyone recommend a good lavender oil please? I've bought them in the past and they just didn't smell right somehow. It's mainly for refreshing wheat packs, pillows etc.

Baldwin' s of the Walworth Rd in London ( not far from the Elephant and Castle) are true herbalists and do a postal service. They will make it clear whether they are selling the true flower oil or artificial versions.
By the way, they sell wonderful Pot Pourri oils and lots of other perfume oils.

Hi all.Lottie I'm pleased you feel better now you've been to see your favourite Dr. He sounds really good. I have my favourite too and I always go before they open so that I get an appointment to see him. I do have one other I will see if he's not available but that's not all that often.
I've had an anxious day today as my friend has been having a hip replacement op. we have been contact all day on and off and we had a chat on Skye this evening and he is doing ok. The specialist said he could go home tomorrow but I think he's going to have another day of being mollycoddled in there :)
I'm off now to watch some footie so it's oight oight all my lovely biddyfriends. See yer later 'gater(s).

Hi Jude, Nice to see you. Glad your friend is doing OK. That is good news.
Jude we are allocated to our GP's and my Doc. has been our family Doc for 22 years now. I only see other Docs. for minor things or urgent things. There are now about 15 docs. in the practice and he will be the senior partner when the current guy retires soon. He is a firm believer in maintain a proper family doctor relationship for continuity and always asks about the family too. I suppose we are lucky.
I am going to make the lovely Mr LL a cup of coffee. He has just made me a simply lovely dinner. I do feel much better after 'offloading' today.
Oight, oight to all you lovely Biddies.

Well done Lottie but don't get into a tizzy about celiac yet ...my doc sent me to be tested for it, it seems to be one of those 'rule it out' things nowadays if you have digestive problems.
I've been eeing my gp for about 28 yrs and I probably wouldn't be here if he hadn't turned up and started sending me for tests all those years ago.
Hope your friend recovers well jude, you'll be teaching him to jive in no time.
Another wild, wet night here. I hate the noise and it's not going to be helped by the fact that next doors gate latch has finally dropped off and it's banging in the wind. It was loose weeks ago...they go to uni, get degrees and can't even....oh poo, words fail me sometimes.

glad to hear people are making progress with their doctors, which is more than I have. He was soooo close to writing me out a prescription when the lights went out and the whole suburb went black. I did shine a torch at him and suggest he write one out by hand the old-fashioned way but he said all the scrip forms were in the printer and it had locked. So I shall make attempt #5 tomorrow.
We eventually had to go out to JD Wetherspoon and have a leather steak for dinner, but the lights were back on when we got home. It is very difficult to make the internet work with candles, I have found.

jno, we had a power cut recently I was so glad of my ipad! (smug smug) Its now mega rattly here. Amazing how we can't do without power though (and computers) The local garage can't serve folk when there is a power cut, the pumps work but they can't take the money. I was in the Range not long ago and they lost power, all the till girls had notebooks and had to write down the barcode of everything they sold and add it up on calculators. One till was doing old fashioned hand credit card slips and the rest were cash only. Actually I was impressed. Most of the staff are in their teens and they were managing all the old fashioned stuff really well and all very cheerful about it.
Jude I expect your friend will be so pleased to be out of pain, the elective patients usually do better than those poor folk who fracture because the post op pain of healing and exercise is peanuts compared to what they have been through, also they are used to using pain relief and take what they need.
Lottie, i am so so glad you are feeling better, nothing like a good offload.
Anyway probably oight oight. I couldn't sleep last night, not the wind, just an overactive brain.

Good morning all. Jude I hope your friend is feeling OK, and he will certainly be better off. My Bro had two hip replacements and he says the relief from pain is wonderful, he even danced at the wedding in May.
I am feeling remarkably better too, only one little cough in the night and not a deep hacking one either, so have decided not to take that other medicine, cos it worries me a bit.
I wake up later and later!! Am still blurry eyed.

Thanks Neti yes he's feeling ok. May be home on Friday. I'm pleased you are feeling better. I hate taking medication. I used to take some pills when I had ulcerated colitis and I had to go every couple of months for a blood test cos they could affect some organ, maybe the kidneys, not sure. I soon talked the doctor into taking me off them.
Lovely sunny day here. I'm off to school later. Hope you all have a good day.

Hello again Biddys
Just thought I'd pop in while the dinner is sozzling .
Lol Neti ..you would have been very welcome to a cream cake .You would have had to hurry though as my bro made short work of the sausage rolls :)
It's terribly stormy here and of course tomorrow is the 60th anniversary of the Great Flood .We were talking about it yesterday .I was only a child but my brother remembers it well as he was involved with rescuing people over on Cobholm Island where my SiL lived when they were courting .They were all up in the bedrooms and had to climb out of the windows down a ladder into a dinghy .
My sister lived down in the prefabs near the river and they managed to get away before the water just washed over the lot .We were lucky as we lived higher up .
I watched the Mary Berry story on catch up earlier .What a lovely lady she is .
Have a nice evening all and stay safe and warm .

hello all been busy. We went into town today and had hamburgers and I shopped at marks and sparks. Then we came home and My nice painter man phoned to say that he could come and do my downstairs loo tomorrow so i have been running around cleaning and tidying.
A funny thing happened. I was going to have kidneys for dinner which I was very fond of. I got them out of the fridge to cook, looked at them and knew that I just couldn't eat them. Not now, not ever. So I put them in the bin and had pizza.
Belated many many happy returns to Mr S.
Neti I am glad you are feeling better. Don't wear yourself out chasing after hija.
I watched Mary Berry too. She's such a lovely normal person.

Yes my chest is better but after hoovering through 4 rooms today I felt really unwell, can't understand it, so luckily there was still cous cous left over for Mr N, just couldn't cook. I think these anti bi's make me feel illish but they are only for 8 days so will persevere. Decided not to take that other medicine, as if it's npot on prescrtiption it could cost a fortune!!
Oh and joy of joys, Barr Manilow has also been sufferign fgrom bronchitis, so that explains where I got it from, swoons happily
