Nativity Play Cancelled In Fear Of "offending" Muslims
143 Answers
just read in the news about a primary school cancelling their nativity play in case it offends the muslim students.
Am I missing something here or this the most unbelievable thing I ever heard?? Regardless of the fact that the child may have come from another country of their parents/grandparents have come from another country - they have still come from another country and if our customs and beliefs "offend" them I know where they should go!
Am I alone here?

Yet another Daily Wail non story , the Christmas performance has been postponed until New Year because a lot of the performers were absent from school due to attending Eid celebrations at home.
For those of you who don't know Muslin festivals move throughout the year so Eid will not co-inside with Christmas next year , nor did it last year.

I'm sorry, I didn't know this wasn't a 'current' story that the questioner was on about, when he put 'just read in the news about a primary school cancelling their nativity play in case it offends the muslim students' that's why I said Eid this year was the last week in October. How was I to know the questioner reads 4 years out of date newspapers?
Their only defence? Are you for real?
You choose to post expressing your outrage at the "most unbelievable thing you have ever heard" - and inviting others to share your outrage.
And yet, upon closer examination, the reason for your outrage - this most unbelievable of events - is a story in the Daily Mail about the RESCHEDULING (not the cancellation, as your OP claims) of a nativity play due to urine-poor planning by the school in question - a story that is 4 YEARS old, happened in 1 school, in one city in the UK.
This is the cause of your outrage? This is "the most unbelievable thing you have ever heard"? This is so earth-shattering that you feel the need to invoke Godwins Law and bring Hitler into one of your subsequent posts?
Others here have all made the same point, but it bears repeating - You must have a very low tolerance and credulity level for this story to be so unbelievable to you. As others have said, this just seems a synthetic excuse for you to attempt to whip up some seasonal outrage against a subset of the population you appear to have little time for....

It was in 2008, matter closed, it was a UK thing, not a North American one, and, guess what, we have got over it.
So why don't you move on as well?
I return to the Papal interpretation of the Nativity for example, no worse than some Muslims not liking it - oh, and by the way, have you ever been to Saudi? You'll see Christmas scenes and hear carols being played there......
Which numpty planet are you living on, by the way?
