I can't help noticing that none of goodlife's comments under the original heading of " impending world destruction" have anything to do with world destruction, and none of his/her comments is connected with any of his/her other remarks. Is this official JW codswallop or just goodlife's personal codswallop ?
Jesus did say: “Happy are the merciful, since they will be shown mercy.” If we treat others mercifully, they are likely to respond in kind. If you read further in Matthew's gospel from your quotation you will see that he goes on to condemn religious hypocrites. People in glass houses...

Anyone would think that the bible was written by a bunch of subversives, planning to bring down the Roman Empire, in the full knowledge of their own lack of combat ability.
