Is This A Scam?

I received an email claiming to be from Amazon saying that someone had tried to place an order using my details and I should click on their link to reset my details. I didn't click on the link. Is this a scam? Has anyone else experienced this?

You did right not to use the link. Access your Amazon account in you usual way firstly and check with them. And report the email if your account appears to be OK. Amazon are pretty helpful with this sort of activity. If you account has been hacked, you will need to find out how they got you details.

If you have ever made a purchase Clarion, Amazon will still have your details including the card you used then, if you failed to uncheck the keep my details box. If for instance someone has tried to purchase, and the card used when you did buy from them, has expired, this may have triggered an email from Amazon. I would go onto the Amazon site and sign inif you can remember the details you used, or ring the number provided by Amazon to check the validity of the email. If Amazon have not emailed you they advise you what to do.

If you float your cursor over the link you can see where the link will take you if you click on it. DO NOT CLICK. The URL will appear at the bottom of your screen. I'd be very surprised if it's a genuine Amazon URL.
As an example, float your cursor over any of the Topics on the Answerbank page and you'll see at the bottom of your screen: www.theanswerbank.co.uk/....
