Morning all...dismal and damp...the weather that is, not me :o) Nothing like your lovely pic neti so have a good <thwack>...and get out of bed.

Love the old ads Vinny, Action Man, yes please, haha. My sons had all of those vehicles, they just about took up the whole bedroom floor...and of course the men were invincible as they went off into battle wearing the smart suits I'd made for them. Be afraid... :o)

Hope the news for Mr W continues to be good...and thinking of Mr S & shaney too.
I'll probably be here with Charlie this xmas, with his wee problems he's not an ideal house guest anymore & the travelling gets him wound up. I'm not bothered, all I want is to get through it with no bad illness or disasters.
Better go & put the last of my cards in the post before we're all snowed in again...hopefully it won't get that bad, Des the weather says they have to tell the worst possible scenario...but he did mention that minus 25C for Ibiza & ten foot snowdrifts for Woolycombe looked likely :o)

Haved dragged myself out of bed, and am off out for a coffee. Will I need gloves and a scarf I wonder???
Corr, didn't stay in town for coffee it was way too cold, I did wear gloves, 2 sweaters, jeans and kneehigh boots and I was sooo cold. Started to sleet as I left the house then turned into rain, my feet are like ice. Want to light a log fire but Mr N hasn't chopped the logs, so it's back to gas fire!

Are we all well? Kit how are you bearing up and how is Mr S?...and are the rest of you still more or less in one piece? I am having a break then going to make cards.
Daughter says Genk is beautiful, xmas card pretty, with an ice rink and decorated trees all around it, and people sitting in open air cafes, oh I would love it, and she says not overly cold! Op tomorrow at 8am.
I'm back after a veggie pasta with salad......and all I bought were 2 little candle holders with a tiny holly with berries decoration attached to the outside £5.98 and 2 Boots shower gels for £1.50 but I have the Boots card so i got 16p off. So I didn't spend much did I !
And when I got home the lovely ring has arrived so I'm well happy about that.
I hope you are all ok including Mr. S and Mr W,
I have had a chat with my son on the phone and he wont be coming down here on Christmas day so I will be going to my younger sister's for my dinner. She now leaves not far from Nottinham so I'm hoping the weather is fairly decent for driving over there. She says I can stay the night as well if I want to so that will help.
I think there's a footie match on tonight so that takes care of my evening viewing if it doesn't get boring with no goals being scored not that any of you are bothered about that. :~)
Have a good night Biddyfriends and kkep warm it's goiong to get colder apparently.
See yer later 'gater(s)
P>S> tried get ^ that translated into French and it said 'see ya later alligator' made me laugh:~)

Hello all just caught up on the thread. I hope you are all feeling better and Neti I will be thinking of Hija tomorrow.
Where's Kit?
It's all Peepo Bingle Jells here .Thought I ought to get my self into gear and do something about Christmas .
Sheesh ,I went into town yesterday and it was manic .Had to stand all the way home on the bus and it's so hot in the shops .Gawd ...
Managed to get my pressies though ,then today it was queue up at the PO again and I've just finished putting up the tree and some deccies .It gets more knackering every year ..Household engineering is on hold .I'll do it tomorrow along with the cards which I keep putting off .They'll get them next Christmas at this rate .

Mr S is doing fine and has now put on 4 kilos in weight .Just a blood test Monday and Urologist on the 23rd and that's the medical mystery tour over, hopefully for this year anyway and we can relax and enjoy Christmas and pray for no mishaps :).
Hope you're all well and hope Mr Woofy is keeping OK.
Keep warm people and take care .It looks like freezing conditions on the way again .
Jno's in the right place !
Bonsoir, mange tout ;o)

Jude however did you only manage to spend that amount in Boots? I end up with a basketful of stuff when I go in there but I do try to make the most of their offers, extra points etc.
Now the good news <crossed fingers> is that the snow will miss us tomorrow. I do hope so...but we might have some on Saturday but I've no plans to go mingling with the frantic mob on the last weekend before xmas.
And I rang the dog lady & all things being equal she'll be coming tomorrow ro give Charlie a tidy up & nails clipped so that'll be another box ticked. Luckily I couldn't be bothered to clean today so that's saved me some energy, I can do it when she's been. I was going to make my own mince pies but I think I'll scrub that idea...windows could do with cleaning inside but erm, it's dark most of the time...my hair could do with a trim but erm, I'll wear me hairnet...ooh, I'm getting very good at this procrastination malarkey...
Oh hello shaney...you're ahead of me with the pressies then I still havent got all of mine.
Well done Mr S, 4 kilos is very good...plenty of xmas goodies should pile a bit more on plum puddin for breakfast every day! :o)
oooerr... my commas have gone into a coma, sorry
Good morning Biddies,

4 kilos mr s, my goodness that is jolly good, well done,

and I trust Mr Woofy is still well and happy.

Rather jolly cold here, but it's the houses are so cold and damp. when we heat the house, it brings the moisture out from the walls, not nice. How do you cope Lottie, cos your house is rock and mud init, like mine?
Good morning everybody, Just a quick message. I have heard from Kit and she sends her love to all Biddies and Hippie and she will return soon.
I'll see yer later.
ahh poor kit, hope she is warm and safe.

Oooh it was 0º here at 22hrs last night, we are catching up with you...........
Our telephone cables are underwater yet again. We have lived here for 30 years and they can't get it sorted. Hence no internet yesterday until last night and none again first thing this morning. Telephone lines are all crackly too. Haven't forgotten any of you.

Good news about Mr SS!!

Went in to Kings Lynn yesterday specifically to go to BHS. Got there to find it has gone and it being replaced by Primart. I am not impressed.

Neti, our house is toasty warm and easy to heat. The flints warm up like mini storage heaters and retain the heat. Also the walls are extremely thick and the ceilings low.
We haven't any damp.

However, the part of the house where this computer is was the old wash house and is tagged on the end and it is cold with North and East facing windows!!

See you soon.

(I am going back for a couple of hours sleep. I am having dreadful nightmares every night I am wondering whether I ought to go to the docs, but what can he do!! I am not exaggerating they are really dreadful nightmares and I wake up with headaches and feeling really shaky and groggy.) I end up feeling permanently tired all day.
Just been out for q lovely walk and an open-air coffee. The rained eased off but the cold is quite intense for here. I wore my new hat which makes me look russian although it is felt with faux fur trim,, also wore some old yeti-type boots, gloves, 2 sweaters and a thick padded jacket and was toasty warm (like lottie's house).

Lottie our walls are at least 1½ ft thick, but no damp course, we also have low ceilings but the house is freezing. the floors are incredibly cold where we do not have carpet, so have to wear ugg-type slippers!

Have just seen a super paiur of sensible boots that I want for xmas from Mr N ( I honestely have about 12 pairs already, but he doesn't count them!)

Similar to these but in brown and only up to the knee!
Corrie watchers please.... when was the last episode as I have just seen a clip on Wright stuff and I've not seen it, and they are discussing it with the public so everyone else must have seen it?
Don't worry re: corrie as I've now found it, I've tat many dvds tha I have recorded last that it was lost in the many!
What a grey day, sleet showers...it was mild but getting colder. Apparently half the world has flu/bad colds so I'm eating for England to keep my weight up in case, heaven forbid, I get it. And my sister says there's been a rush on with funerals :o/
Oh I haven't been to BHS for ages, I used to pop in all the time, there were usually some good bargains. The wb site's not up to much tho, most of the things are out of stock.

Well one of us looks nice 'n tidy for the season..and it's not me. Chas' had his hair lightly trimmed & his nails done, we don't want him having little balls of snow dangling off his undercarriage every time he goes out.

Thinking of you Kit x
