Same here shaney, I don't know if I could cope in your shoes, but, yes, I would just have to knuckle down to it. Sometimes I wonder if ever Mr N was helpless in a wheelchair or worse, could I cope, and I think yes, but then day after day, year after year with no respite, would I come to hate him, awful thought but I'm only human, and hopefully it will never happen!!!!
yes, just written a note to them upstairs pointing out they'll have to put their own bins out this week (as ground floor people we normally do it), checked in online for Khartoum, ready to zip off tomorrow lunchtime. Arrive at 4am, which would be about the time I'd be going to bed here, so that's not welcome, but what would Dr Livingstone have said.
A Christmas tale...
It is a slow winter’s day in a damp little Irish town. Times are tough, everybody is in debt and everybody lives on credit.
One day a rich German tourist stops at the local hotel and smacks a €100 note on the desk, telling the owner he wants to inspect the rooms before he decides to spend the night there.
The hotelier gives him the keys and as soon as the visitor has gone upstairs he grabs the €100 note and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher.
The butcher takes the €100 note and runs down the street to pay his debt to the pig farmer.
The pig farmer takes the €100 note and heads off to pay his bill at the supplier of feed stuffs and fuel.
The guy at the farmers' co-op takes the €100 note and runs to pay his drinks bill at the pub.
The publican slips the €100 note to a lady of the night at the bar, who is also facing tough times and had to offer him "services" on credit.
She rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill with the €100 note.
The proprietor then places the €100 note back on the counter so the rich visitor won't suspect a thing.
When the German finally comes down the stairs, says the rooms are unsatisfactory, picks up the €100 note and leaves.
No one produced anything. No one earned anything. However, the whole town is now out of debt and looking to the future with a lot more optimism……….

Kit I'm useless at advice and i think all the other biddies have given lots of ideas much better than I could. I just hope you get some satisfaction about it from somebody in your city. It just isn't fair what is happening to you in that building. Thinking about you.
When I was young I wouldn't say 'boo to a goose' but now I'm a lot stronger than I was then and yes we do have lots of places where we can go to sort stuff out. I hope you find somewhere for help.

no, the hotel failed to rent out their room and therefore didn't collect any money, but didn't lose any. I will drink a health to superowmen while away but only in soft drink of course, nothing harder allowed where I'm going. But it is not going to rain and hotels are not going to give away my luggage, I have decided.
Good for you Jno ..hang on to yer backpack at all costs and keep your camera tucked away safely .We want piccies !

Plate smashing ,door slamming ,and all sorts . We hadn't been married all that long when I boogered off.
But a cold night on the station in Hook van Holland soon brought me to my senses. I'd missed the ferry and he drove all the way from Cologne to get me .
These who say they've never had a cross word in fifty years or whatever should be elevated to the sainthood :)

what happened to my last post? Anyway, everyone has been paid, inclluding the hotel by the lady; the German has his money back to spend on a better hotel and the hotel still has an empty room it can rent out.
I shall only be gone a week unless blizzards close the airports again, in which case I shall just have to cool my heels in the desert, or possibly even the dessert.

Good morning...oh dear it's 13th Dec, no tree up, still got a few cards to buy, no cake/pudding made (haha, as if), virtually no presents bought (don't buy many now anyway)...hey ho, maybe the xmas fairy will come along & sort it all.
Why didn't Rebecca win? Cos Matt was better :o)... <ducks>...well, lots of reasons probably.
Rebecca has an amazing voice & she'll do very well but they've revealed Matt had the highest votes every week except week one (when Mary did best) so it seems it's a case of people liking him more.
Usually when it's a good male v a good female the male will win - more women voters.
I think people are a bit fed up of Cheryl Cole too...did anyone notice hers & Rebecca's sour faces as they waited for the results? Crikey, a side of their real personalities?
