Can anyone confirm that the electricity in Dubai is 220v, and that the plugs are the same as UK ie 3 pin? Thank you.

Good morning all! Cool and overcast here but very sticky. Have to wait in (possibly all day) for my new iron from Air miles to be delivered. Such is life.
Another bite today on my thigh, I really must remove his teeth tonight!
Hope you are all well.

Oh yes shaney we used to get shouted at for being bookworms, these days you'd welcome a child reading!
I am having a spate of very realistic bad dreams....very hard to come out of them when I wake up.
Woofgang, my prescription is always to take a blanket off the bed. I only have bad dreams when I'm too hot.

Tried to take some books to charity shops this morning, but two of them didn't want them. Too many books already, they said. Fortunately the third one was more accommodating, so I won't be shipping them to shaney.
I agree Jno, sadly the heat is internal and I can’t peel my skin off.
ah me, I can remember when being hot in bed was widely thought to be a good thing :-(

Hahaha back in the day eh jno??
Woofy I am also having the weirdest dreams at the moment, some quite disturbing and some with no sense at all. We have air con on gently just to cool the room not to freeze it.
Am still waiting here for the damn iron, probably won't come till 8pm. I hate being stuck indoors! I am bored, bored, bored and just eating eating eating,
Question Author
Ship them this way jno. I would love to receive a box of books!
Hello all
Threatening to rain ..again.
I don't need any more books .I keep taking some to the charity shop as and when.I rarely buy a book these days.
I've got an iron you can borrow Neti ,in fact you are welcome to do the bloomin' ironing.I'm just having a break from it .I had four things of my own and I've just ironed twelve T shirts from my brother ...only another 2 pairs of trews,14 shirts and some bed linen to go .I'll be doing it at midnight at this rate:)
A'noon all...another dull day with the occasional light sprinkle from the passing clouds.

Good to have you back and I'm pleased you're on the up Jude.
Well done shaney, at last! You'll be doing the can-can by September. 269 books...can you remember them all? :) I used to be an avid reader, my mum used to tell me off about reading at the dinner table (better than today's mobile phones) and I read more when I had two little ones to run around after than I do now. I must have that many books around the house and at least half of of them probably haven't been read. Since the 'algia I just don't have the concentration and if I just read a small section I forget what I've read the next day :)

Yesterday was a funny day, not funny haha. I can't shake this foggy head....and banging it really hard under the stairs did me no good at all. Serves me right for trying to be a domestic goddess. And just to add to the distress I got a message to say our oldest uncle had passed away. Well, he was the oldest as far as I know, there could be others on branches of the family tree that we've lost trace of.

The good news is that my online food order arrived, all present and correct, good dates etc. It was lovely for someone else to do something for a change. I'll be doing it again.
back when dinosaurs roamed the earth
The dinosaurs comment was for Jno. Robi, I love online grocery ordering....just FOCUS....a few months ago I meant to order 12 loo rolls and ended up with 12 x 9 roll packets.
Lol..I don't know about the can can Robinia ,probably more like the soft shoe shuffle.Yes I'm more than pleased .I counted up the weeks and I had a compression bandage up my leg for twelve weeks in total.
The Norah Batty socks are vast improvement !
Ooh where did you do your on line grocery shopping ?
I've drifted round them all from time to time apart from Morrisons who don't deliver round here, mainly Sains and Waitrose now though.
You all popped up! Yes many of the charity shops around here won’t accept books any more. There is one Oxfam shop that only sells books but they are quite expensive to buy from and all the books are new novels and so on. I love an old book, but have run out of room and still I buy!! I am supposed to be going to the hygienist but the weather is making my head beat like a drum and there is heavy rain forecast which will upset the dogs so going to postpone.
haha, lol woofy I got a txt from my sister to ask if I'd got 200 loo rolls and 25 melons.
It was Sainsburys shaney because I know what I like from there. I was very good, I made a shopping list and just searched for the things directly instead of browsing. I spent just over £40 and got delivery (between 2 & 3pm) for £2. Great value, it would cost me over a tenner to go to the nearest one and back by taxi.
Morrisons have started to deliver in this area, they seem very popular.
Yes Sainsburys are good value on the delivery .We could go by bus as we've got our passes but then we have to lug it home .Waitrose is free over sixty pounds.I'm not a regular on line grocery shopper but I suppose I get things from one or t'other once a month or so,mainly the heavy bulky stuff ,washing powder, loo rolls and other non food items etc.
I order things for my brother from Waitrose as they do packs of small tins of veg for one and they do little tins of fruit which he likes.
We're lucky that Morrisons is just a five minute walk away ...well,bit longer than that for me but I get there :) And of course sometimes my brother takes me over to Lowestoft Morrisons which is huge.
It'll be a boon for you in the winter months .
That's one of the reasons I wanted to do a trial run before winter sets in shaney. I kept meaning to have a go last year but never got a round tuit. Even the young ones with cars around here have groceries delivered. I was quite surprised when a Stannah van parked up outside my house earlier...the neighbours probably think I've finally crumbled. :)
I use either waitrose or tesco.....wish marks and sparks had the service.
Make sure you do no substitutions though .
I once ordered Matzos crackers from Sainsburys and they sent me a box of Mazda lightbulbs instead !
Hahaha...do you do a turn down the pub now, eating their old lighbulbs shaney?
:)
I've been in the garden, the sun's shining, it's breezy but lovely! I think I'll mark it on the calendar.
