Can anyone confirm that the electricity in Dubai is 220v, and that the plugs are the same as UK ie 3 pin? Thank you.

It's been so cool here today 23° just like Christmas, really enjoyed it except that I couldn't do any washing, but have done it now and the washing is all hanging out.
Hi all I have a visitor until Sunday so don't expect me in much like I do!
I have a new gadget. A cordless hedge trimmer. Really love it as I now won't go cutting through the cable like I did twice with my old one. This one I lighter as well.
Thanks for your comments on my Wednesday school visits. I really lucky about it all.
Anyway I'm off now. Have a good weekend all. See you again Sunday evening probably.
Morning all...have a good weekend Jude.

23C cool? It's dull and a real feel of 11C here this morning...that's bloomin cool.
Morning all
It was quite cool here too first thing but out came the sun and it was lovely .The sun has now disappeared ..tut.
Have a nice time Jude .Careful with that hedge trimmer. Neti might be wanting to borrow it :)

nice here....cool and fresh.had a busy day yesterday so we are taking it easy today.....aka doing naff all
if it gets any cooler here I will be a hipster. At least it's not raining and I can hang out the washing.
Haha, hipster.
I'm hanging out in the living room having no incentive to do anything useful. I think I'm solar powered and there's only enough strength left in my battery to make some chs on tst.

bet shaney appears now :)
Who mentioned chs on tst :)
It's got out lovely again now and washing is whirling on the whirly.
I've been very industrious and washed the kitchen floor, swept the front porch and washed it down and now I've ground to a halt .
I need suggestions please Ms Dimmock for something tall to grow in the border in front of the fence.Fence is 8ft high. Not anything that clings, climbs or hangs on for grim life though:)

G'day.
Plastic plants shaney is my advice!!
Strange weather. Sunny. Overcast sunny 25°. Quite wintry.
Went out for lunch with Hija. Now resting.
Washed my bedding but now its cloudy again.

My middle sister has just phoned, she's fallen over, and hurt her arm but no breaks luckily. She'd just been to a funeral and was stepping on the kerb, car keys in hand to unlock car door and suddenly she went flying, she has no idea how, but was in so much pain that she daren't drive, so older sis and friend called a taxi and they went home . Sis went into a walk in medical centre and they sent her to hospital but no breaks, she feels very wobbly today so is staying in. No fun this getting old. Older sister is getting rather strange lately, she's now called a friend in London thinking it was my sister to ask how she was feeling!!
Question Author
Have just bunged bedding in tumble drier as the skies are looking ominous!! And if they get all creased (and mine certainly do) then I have a new iron to dash away with!!!
Bloomin raining here.
Ooh shaney, the list is endless. Is it a sunny spot? Does it have to grow at least 8ft or taller? Evergreen? Apart from the robinia I've always gone to the garden centre and chosen plants and shrubs randomly.
also what depth do you have there? do you need something tall and narrow?
It's corrugated and it went for a burton in the storms .It's been put back up and reinforced with timber struts and is now an eyesore !
This is what it was like ,covered in that bloomin' ivy.

It faces due east and theres a deep border in front which was full of cranesbill but that's been all dug out .

Hope your sister will be alright Neti.No fun falling about when you get older.
Question Author
That's pretty and fresh looking shaney even I, a committed non gardener like it, can't see anything corrugated though.
That's 'cos it's covered in the ivy Neti which is now gone.
The ivy was the only thing holding it up I think until the storm blew in .
camellias or rhodis are good value and evergreen. I am a huge fan of amelanchier for a small tree large shrub, you get flowers, berries for the birds, then stunning autumn colour but not evergreen. It grows quite quickly too but takes ages to get really huge.
Question Author
I've just done the ironing with my new Bosch iron. Have to say it is fantastic. It irons 2 sides at once and is quite light, really like it. Well pleased.
l've got an amelanchier at the side of house end of the garden Woofy.
The blackbirds love the berries.

Have a camelia at the side.Plus there's another tree up in that corner the name of which escapes me .Long reddish flowers on it .Starts with S and is on the tip of my tongue but can't get it . Sumac ?
I've been looking through an Alan Titchy book (personally signed doncha know ..lol) and I quite like pittisporum, viburnum or berberis.
I really don't want any more trees as such .Tall shrubs I suppose .
I'm a difficult customer :)
