Our cat Rover is missing....
... he escaped from his cage on the way back from the vets this evening. OH and I have spent six hours combing the thick hedges, to no avail. He's either lying very low or has legged it (and is hopefully doing the Incredible Journey and finding his way back home..) - we are sad. We're going back up there first thing in the morning.

Surely the nearer the trap to the last place he was seen the greater your chances of success? Just a thought.
Have you tried standing in the car park with a megaphone ? Or get the BBQ out and waft food smells in his general direction ? Police helicopter ?
It is a pity that the microchips don't allow us to track a lost animal. I have to walk along a very busy road to get to my Vet - I have to keep checking that it is locked. The little monsters are fast when they want to be.
I hope that he is home soon.
