Trying to recall a television series from my childhood. This would have been in the late sixties or early seventies. Can't say if it was American or British and the only clue I've got for you is that every episode started with the hero listenig to his new assignment on a cassette tape which always ended with the words "this tape will self-destruct within thirty seconds" - something along those lines. Driving me crazy!

TIA (back tonight to say thanks to anyone who's been able to put me out of my misery, as it were:)

this will probably have gone by the time dozy biddies get themselves out of bed but...

First, from the NewsGrind satire site:

http://www.thenewsgri...t-for-moat-shoot-out/

And then from the serious AOLnews, which seems to have swallowed it whole...

oops!

Here's a challenge for you jno: Did this really happen today or is The Local a satire site: http://www.thelocal.se/27630/20100706/ ...

Shaney that's very worrying for you. Having a good feeling about the surgeon makes an actual difference in healing so it's a very good thing that you do - and Mr S. too I am just assuming. Fingers crossed that Germany wins the World Cup, he'll be invincible:) Thinking of you xxx

God job, Lottie - very efficient;-)
well, Reuters have run the story and they're pretty meticulous

(I don't know why it's Reuters Africa, though)

And yes it did really happen. Note that the money was donated by an advertising agency... for this purpose and this purpose alone. Had the party wished to put the money to other use, the donation would not have been made. Well they got what they wanted - the advertising agency - as their name has been mentioned over and over again today. Do I sound cynical...

G'night all!
Good morning all, sending prayers and good wishes for Mr Shaney. Sis went home yesterday so I am having to relearn how to do my housework :-(
We had a lovely time, went to London for a QVC Craft Event, free tickets and a goody bag, went shopping, had lunches out and generally a good gossipy time.
Dh has been taking it easy, meeting friends and generally recovering, we are hoping that he will get a scan tomorrow but it depends on the levels in yesterday's blood test.

I have been burning the candle a bit, getting up at 04.15 to take the dogs out, we normally siesta or get to bed early and DH did still but I have been out and about with sis so am going to catch up on kip today.
That shoot out news piece is awful...maybe not without a tiny grain though.
is it illegal to burn money in Sweden?
Lovely news Dolly and I am sure that it will help you both. Dogs give love absolutely unconditionally and make you do things like feed and walk them which is good for a bit of external focus....seems like she was waiting for you!
Morning all,
Chin up shaney & best wishes to Mr S. Don't spend the whole of the next 2 weeks biting your nails (easy for me to say), it won't be long before they have him sorted out.

I imagine a poodle x bischon frise dog is sooo cute Dolly, lots of posh doggy hair do's then? Bit spooky that I posted that picture of two bichons :o/. Enjoy her and hope to see a pic soon.

If anyone's got any money that needs burning ....?

QVC were doing xmas card kits yesterday....aaaggghhh!!!

The throat, glands & ear thing's flared up big time stylie again, I feel lousy, been awake all night with a raging temperature. I'm so glad it's not hot weather but Friday looks set to be.
Why when you have a bad throat do you only have rough seedy bread in the house? I fancied some pappy raw toast.

Have just googled Clive Owen!!

<<<< Twacks >>>>Robinia and double <<<< thwack >>>> he is only 46 yrs old, you cougar you!!!!
Yeh...And....? He's only 10 years younger than me & I've done better than that in the past :o)
Sorry Dolly, in my 'after dinner state' yesterday I forgot to mention your new little friend. Nothing like a pet to keep you young and cheerful and I hope you have loads of happy years with her. She sounds absolutely lovely.

Woofie I am so glad Mr Woof is on the mend. Shaney I have mailed you.

Well I have just come back from the nurse because my punctured shin was still looking red and weird and have come back with a four inch yellow rubbery patch adhered to said wound with instructions that it is not to be disturbed for a week. I also have yet another pack of antibiotics, the same type as I had only weeks ago for my scabby face!!

Sorry you are under the weather Robinia, take care!! Must now go and unpack my Morrisons shopping and put it all away - exciting!!
my golly, guess who I just saw at the station

http://www.funkypanca...hives/DSC04525big.jpg

I am too mature too swoon, but I did think he looked very cute. Obviously not a kid like Clive, he's more like my own age, but he sure doesn't look it.

Good luck with your dog, Dolly, you sure he's not a dingo? Anyway, if I wanted a pet around the house, it would have to be Nigel.
ooooooh lucky you jno, I like Nigel too...which station was it? Was he getting a train to Derby?

Lottie you're going to have to change your name to ScabbaLottie!

I kept tottering out side to get some fresh air, but it isn't at all fresh. According to the met office it should have rained heavily at 4pm. I think I'll write & complain.
'twas Westminster underground, Robinia, as I had just been to drop in on Lambeth Palace, as one does. (No archbishops around, the only person I recognised there was a slightly batty former work colleague - used to be a cop in Hong Kong - but I kept my eyes lowered and he didn't spot me.) So Nigel could have been going anywhere. Are you on the District Line, by any chance?
Enhorabuena España!!!

Sorry mr s, cheer up, Germany are a good team!
yes, things aren't looking good for Norfolk, better for the Balearics
Glum faces in the front room :)
At least I can take that wretched flag down now .I'm fed up with groping round it to find the gin bottle and glasses :)

Well done Spain !!
It's not all over though ...they'll be rooting for the Dutch now and hoping to come third Yours
Football widow
Norfolk .
heavens, primitive life in Norfolk, who would have thought it

Ooooh Happisburgh (pronounced Haysboro') twixt Shaney and me!!
I like Nigel by the way. A bit smooth, but nice anyway. It's nice to see him in Corrie!

Night, night all xx
Hmmm, noone out of bed yet!

Had a good start to the day. Milk was off (new unsealed container), and the bread I lovingly made in the breadmaker last night was a disaster. I didn't put any liquid in it!!
Mr LL has gone off to London somewhat late after being sent to Morrisons for milk and bread so he can take some lunch with him.

I shall now sit back and relax!
