Sqad - //OK.....posting from the cafe of my Club after getting the opinion of the Spanish ( males....no women allowed in the club except to wait on us ;-)>
These are not necessarily my views:
Nearly all female babies have their ears pieced within 2 weeks of birth.
The fathers couldn' t care a toss, but the mothers feel that it is important.
Yes, the babies cry, but don't all babies cry about something, but is soon forgotten.
The fashion now is not one puncture hole, but THREE.
Do they think it is mutilation......they asked if I was joking.
So it seems that opinions differ andy. //
I have never disputed that cultures other than ours - Spanish being a perfect example - indulge in this distressing practice far more commonly than we do here in the UK.
But that does not make it right does it?
Koreans on the whole eat more dogs and cats than UK citizens, but that doesn't mean that we should simply shrug and say that its perfectly OK - but that is an example, for another debate.
//Yes, the babies cry, but don't all babies cry about something, but is soon forgotten. //
True, but as a parent, I spent, and still do spend, as much energy as is necessary towards ensuring that my children don't cry about anything I can avoid - and that includes inflicting my perverse vanity on them as little ones.
