I’m sure the parents would in no way let us forget the religious and cultural, angle. I think that’s the elephant in the room here, and what AOG really wanted debating.
Not from the YouGov article the destinations listed and the term "cutting season".

/// Aog ,your post was probably removed because knife attacks are not relevant to this discussion, ///

In this case they were very relevant, that is what I can't understand.

The knife attacks reference were made as a comparison or analogy which are constantly used in AB debates and yet others seem to get away with them.

It was this post that I was replying to:

/// It wouldn't apply to Mr and Mrs Smith and their daughter Octavia. " - yes it would have to, can you imagine it? Only girls that look a bit muslim will be examined, white girls exempt? uproar! ///

Hence my stop and search analogy over black on black stabbings.
Sorry AOG, but I still cannot see how that is relevant to the OP.
What am I missing here? We all agree there must be prosecution for this abuse, to prosecute you must have evidence, to get evidence you must examine, which some of us are saying is abuse.
Vulcan, it is considered abuse to examine a child without the presence of a parent or an appropriate adult(one appointed by the parent)
Vulcan, the statistics are showing that cases are being discovered without "examinations". We need to punish those heavily and in a high profile way.
I don't think abuse is the right word. Abuse suggest negative intentions.
Pixie do you have other statistics apart from the NSPCC? Theirs are assumptions based on other countries.

The handing out of leaflets at the airports is a useless exercise, it is like handing out leaflets that terrorism is unlawful.

Ups! there I am with my analogies again, I do hope this one isn't removed.

Well this thread has certainly taken off, while noticing that most are against this evil practice, only a few have come up with perhaps a solution to the lack of arrests.

So I ask those who have strongly criticised those who have suggested some form of action, to now come up with their solutions to the problem, except of course a very long drawn out solution such as education, whilst in the meantime, hundreds perhaps thousands of these unfortunate young girls are forced to submit to this savage abuse.
Prosecution, AOG. females will at some have to be examined.

/// Prosecution, AOG. females will at some have to be examined. ///

I presume you meant to put "will at sometime have to be examined"

But when?

They must be being examined now but the practice is still taking place and there are still zero arrests being made.
Can anyone explain the reason for it being done in the first place?
A paragraph on the why' here.

Lots of other places to find information.
From Wikipedia, "There is no mention of FGM in the Bible.[138] Christian missionaries in Africa were among the first to object to FGM,[139] but Christian communities in Africa do practise it. A 2013 UNICEF report identified 17 African countries in which at least 10 percent of Christian women and girls aged 15 to 49 had undergone FGM; in Niger 55 percent of Christian women and girls had experienced it, compared with two percent of their Muslim counterparts.[140] The only Jewish group known to have practised it are the Beta Israel of Ethiopia. Judaism requires male circumcision, but does not allow FGM.[141] FGM is also practised by animist groups, particularly in Guinea and Mali."
So why are people on this thread blaming Islam?
Question Author
ummmm

I see no evidence of that.

But the fact remains are Muslims free from blame?
No.....only a very small amount of them, though, it seems. It is far more prevalent in other religions.....including Christianity.
I don't remember that bit from my bible studies.
