As pretty and amusing as it is, your allegory is incongruous, Karl. Most of the people who voted to leave the “bowls club” have no wish to retain any of its benefits or use any of its facilities. The reason the current mess has arisen is because our illustrious leaders who have been “negotiati ng” our departure have viewed the exercise as one of damage...

There is difference between the industries wanting to continue trading to the UK easily and the EU stance. So no, I've not missed any point.
How can offering a final chance to act reasonably be immature ? I suspect a concealed insult.
There is nothing remotely unrealistic about the UK requirments which revolve around common sense benefit for both sides. The case is clear as per my reference to EU industries above. Otherwise they wouldn't be so disappointed to see us go and hope we'd stay.
The advantages are mutual, the EU is willing to cut it's nose off to spite their face, or more accurately the noses of member countries, which doesn't much hurt the EU elite.
I see no analogy with a ball, we have nothing that we are walking off with, save our sovereignty, which is supposed to be ours anyway.

TheLand, I am not religious but trying to get my head around the concept of "owning souls" I would say that assuming an individual is still left with a choice than he/she will make it, stay or leave - the choice was made. I have absolutely no problem with accepting that. The tedious droning on about then wanting something nobody is likely to provide and going on to have a tantrum when it is not on offer is nobody else's fault once a choice has been made. I am unimpressed by one-sided views of life and co-existence with the rest of the planet's people.
However, with MPs back in Westminster this morning after consulting with constituency activists over the weekend, one backbencher told i: “Graham better have a letter-opener with him when he returns to his desk in London.”

Karl forgot to mention, in his bowls club that he was one of the few who had to pay subs and the committee spent all it's time making up silly rules to impose on him. Also when he resigned they demanded 4 years subs even though he wasn't in the club. They also insisted on arbitrating on any private game he had indefinitely until they decided they didn't need to.
I did suggest a very long time ago if any of you actually expected this to happen you must be mad, and I have been roundly ridiculed. It's perfectly obvious, and has been since the get go, that this is not in anyone's interests and that your beloved Tories don't give a rat's ass about your votes or desires and the EU certainly can't be expected to care what happens after we flounce off into the sunset (well the chilly lonely north sea actually). This was simply not thought through from the offset, and now we are all going to pay the price for this shambles (if indeed it ever happens at all - and I'm still betting it won't).
Just found this, very funny imo.
