The Club is now open.

What a delightful week we have had, climaxing in a glorious day at the local fruit and flower show where lordalex's onions failed to impress the judges yet again, but his leek was highly commended.

My own efforts in the home baking classes also got the thumbs down, but perhaps, as the judge commented, raisin and anchovy scones are something of an acquired taste.

My contributions to tonight's raffle are:

6 parsnips
3 carrots
and half a ball of gardening twine

As I am having trouble with the site tonight, I will post this slightly early.

Your nibbles are up to your usual very high standards, Mamya...I must pass on my recipe for raisin and anchovy scones, I'm sure you would enjoy it.

Is there a lady in here wearing a kilt ? That is an abomination that no one in polite society could allow.
dont look at me i have stewart tartan trews on tonight
The last time a kilt was here surely it was up a drainpipe, doing nefarious things...? Quite put my off my nibbles.
I agree, milady, ladies do not wear kilts, we have the natty sash instead.
Lardy tailcocks are my domain if there are none to your liking I can mix to order am a whizz with the shaker

foul play ! foul play ! Bridle, sniff....
I have never heard the like in my life.
I may have to get the rule book out and look up the black-balling regulations.
anne - does stewart not feel a draught without them?
Question Author
You are quite right, boxtops.......hush now about he kilt...he may hear...and we all know the possible consequences then....
Talking of little scallions - how are his ludship and uncle joe malady? I keep calling you malady tonight milady because some one said you looked a little frought - whom did you beat?
ttfn, no , gives him more freedom for the reels, he goes to balmoral every year to show off his reels.
Milady, instead of a cabaret or a speaker, could we not have our own highland games? after all, if it's good enough for People to go to Braemar... and maybe we could use the members from the home next door as cabers???
Mr Helmet's half scottish - his family's got their own tartan & everything. I'll ask him to rake out his kilt when he gets back from the chip shop, although he's not very happy - he couldn't get out of the Duxford Airshow car park for about 3 hrs
Mr Box too has a kilt hanging in the closet, from his own entitlement to wear it. The natty shoes are in there as well.
Thank you mamy. Could you mix me up a "Saturday Surprise" tailcock to go with my fish & chips?
Question Author
How nasty for him, lardhelmet......but did he manage to bag a few ducks ?

Dozeydo, I thikn you may have hit on a winner there......a Highland Gathering.
Tossing the Sassenachs
Throwing the Poles
Highland prancing
Pibroch reels
The list is endless
Beware the tailcocks ladies - I cannot see the Jeyes Fluid i brought for the Snaffle Prize. It has disappeared along with th box of magic I brought. Matron might have it in for me tonite - who will be my taster - anyone? Please don't say I have to go on the wagon - I have vertigo.
Question Author
Will you please stop going on about kilts......Uncle Joe and lordalex are only just upstairs and I don't think Mamya has doubled their meds this week.....plus lordalex is still overexcited about his leek.

Did someone mention a scotch helmet is that a new variety
I'll find out how many he bagged m'lady upon his return from chip any minute now
