Lavender Oil

Can anyone recommend a good lavender oil please? I've bought them in the past and they just didn't smell right somehow. It's mainly for refreshing wheat packs, pillows etc.

Baldwin' s of the Walworth Rd in London ( not far from the Elephant and Castle) are true herbalists and do a postal service. They will make it clear whether they are selling the true flower oil or artificial versions.
By the way, they sell wonderful Pot Pourri oils and lots of other perfume oils.

goodness, people are quizzing to and fro, no wonder some of them are stubbing their toes on the aspidistra. Jude, how lovely to get some surprise flowers. Well, you deserve them.
We were strolling along the beach front and there in a butcher's window were some gorgeous beef kebabs drenched in port, so we just had to buy their freedom and take them away and put them on the barbie. Delish. I'd completely forgotten that proper butchers wrap meat up in brown paper rather than shrinkwrapped and prepriced by weight, it's been so long. I don't know what they'll do for my stomach, but who dares wins. I've been very acidy lately despite taking pills that end in zole, and swigging Eno's. But I will be back to full power sooner or later.
I hope the weather up top isn't too chilly. jno jnr assures me he hasn't actually needed a snow shovel at all but that it is rather chilly.

shuffles in wearing fluffy slippers I love slippers, I'd wear them to go out if I could. Actually I nearly do sometimes....no one would bother, they all know I'm a bit dippy.
Morning all...it must be above 0C because the birdbaths have got a tide. I got annoyed when they kept saying yesterday was mild, it wasn't, accu said a real feel of 1C.
That's lovely Jude to have the flowers and very well deserved and I'm pleased you enjoyed you musical lunch, I love Gershwin.
Yes, it looks like a florist in here too I can't move for roses and cards :) but I have had a fair few in my time so I'll just sit here and sigh, Miss Havisham stylie.
Hi jno, good to see you. Sorry you're suffering with Irritable Burma Syndrome, I hope you feel better and enjoy the rest of your holiday.
If it's any consolation I'm suffering too...tut...three hours of tottering across the landing between 2 and 5am in the cold has left me wiped out. I never know whether to resort to imodium or let things run (sorry) their course but in the end I took some. I've felt like broccoli (sorry again) all week really...pee po belly...literally.
Hope everyone's bumps, bruises and burblings are minimal.
Bring me a selection of bags please shaney!

Neti, I hope realise that it was a joke re the cards!!!
I take tablets ending in zole on a daily basis now jno!! So does Mr LL. Perhaps they are dished out at a certain age just in case. (They have helped me though). It is warmer here now, but I am not strolling along on the beach front just yet. Will be out in the garden today though - taking in the air!
Oh dear Robi, hope you will soon be better. I never take anything for the trots, but I rarely get trots, I have to keep trotting to the loo with IBS in the mornings, but not trotting for trots if you know what I mean. I won't go into the details, but gale force winds and hailstones spring to mind!!!
I do love broccolli and to compare it to Sugar is just so not on ;o)

Hairdressers were running late so I left, going again on Monday. I also take zole every day to protect my stomach from the BP pills. Lovely day here today and not many people about and certainly none of the beach.
We have real butchers here, so I can puck what meat I want to have minced, having said that if it were horse on the slab I wouldn't know the difference! They wrap the meat in greaseproof type paper.
Oh lottie, bombs away then!!

Unfortunately, although we have real butchers and good ones using local farms, I find it difficult to go into butchers shops because of the smell. They all have that same smell of I no not what, except it makes me heave. It is definitely not gone off meat!! We eat very little meat these days, but we don't eat ready meals at all and hopefully, Morrisons best beef mince doesn't contain horse!!
Yes, bombs away Neti

Well I got some bargains .
Jeans reduced from £60 to £20 , a Tiggi top reduced from £30 to a tenner and a maxi skirt that was reduced from £69 to £29.
Couldn't find a bag that I liked though :(
It was packed out .They had massive reductions on furniture , linens and cookware but I can't wear a sofa or duvet cover and would look silly in a saucepan :)
I don't go barefoot anymore since I had that gammy leg .I'm terrified of standing on something and cutting my feet or bashing my toes .I don't want another dose of that.....ever again .
Lol..I'll join the ole club .I'm forever swigging Gaviscon and have to take Imodium if going out for any length of time otherwise I feel anxious and uncomfortable .IBS is a pain in the Burmole :)

I really, really, really, really love it, but I bet it is too small or too big. I hesitated to spent £40.00 but at the end of the day there might come a time when I can't afford to be frivolous any more - so I threw caution to the wind.
I have been outside gardening for 5 hours!!. I took Arthritis and anti spasmodic pills to keep going, but I bet I suffer tomorrow.
An early oight, oight................. I probably won't be able to move into this room later :o(

Evening All. I really want to tell you about my visit to the nurse this morning but I feel a bit of a show off. You all have been taking tum medicines etc and I rarely take anything like that. Years ago i did have Gaviscon for a short while for acid or something but not now.
Well here goes. The result of my Health check was everything is fine except my cholesterol which is around 8 but not too high. The nurse suggested a pill (something beginning with s) but i said I wanted to have a go at trying to get it down myself by watching the fat I eat which has increased a bit over Christmas and since. She has given me a blood test paper and I can go about the end of May to have it checked to see if it has levelled off to about 6. Finally she said my risk of getting problems was 17½% according to the blood tests. I have lost an inch in height as well!
Sorry to go on but I'm really pleased after last year's episode and hopefully next Monday will possibly be my last appointment about my wrist.
Neti, never mind about me, I think you ought to slown down a bit. Take Shaneys advice and put you foot up and rest and let it heal.
And all of you with Irritible Whatsits please get better soon.

Simvastatin Jude. Glad that the nurse says it's not too high and you have not been nagged into taking them. Try soya products and the margarine that reduces statin and don't eat much cheese and cream. That took me down to 5 from 7. I crept back up to 6. At no stage was the doc at all concerned. Statins have side effects of muscular aches and pains. Unless really necessary, then leave well alone!!
I am now 5ft 6 and half inches according to rheumo clinic a year ago I was 5'9". I am probaly now 5'2"!!
I have an irritable whatsit Jude - Mr LL. He is driving me mad today!!

Repose? repose? I have been on the computer for 3 blasted hours trying to book a ryanair flight for hija for Wed to come home and look after the cat, all I got was a hire car for her, so in the end a great friend has done it for me as I trust her with my c/card, I just knew I would worry about it all night otherwise, (I've enough to worry about with shaney's lack of a new handbag!) Luckily Mr N still had his moroccan cous cous to finish off, and I didn't have time for me so it was blackcurrant jam on toast, I love toast.
We stood outside looking for the meteor or asteroid whatever but didn't see it and missed some of Corrie.
We measure our cholesterol differently, up to 200 is fine, I am usually 215 and he says that's OK.
When the young doctor looked at my foot, he pulled up a chair and rested my foot between his thighs resting on his you-know-what, I was embarrassed, but he seemed to ignore it, a crusty old foot eeeek!! His nurse gave me an injection in my bum and I didn't even feel it, eas still waiting and she was rubbing it, I was so pleased. My medico used to have a ponytail but I vaguely remember seeing his hair was short, must mention it on monday.
