Right here goes...... I honestly don't want to start a big debate but for all the muslims out here can someone eplain what your religion is all about?
From what i have seen so far it is very oppressive very negative and also very dogmatic in the way you live your life.

There are no similar rules for men. If a woman in Saudi is raped, she needs 4 men to testify that it actually happened - or she could face the death penalty. It would not matter if she was with 40 women at the time - their evidence would not be worth a carrot, as they as women are not worth a carrot.

Keyplus, I've just read your answer to me. What a troublemaker you are. You say you have respect for women, but you don't like those who are smart enough to catch you out in your lies, and strong enough to challenge your arrogance, do you? No surprise you tell me that if I dress as a Muslim my husband will still love me. Oh, I see, I'm supposed to be grateful for that. Of course. That's my rightful place, eh? One thing I do admit, Muslims are becoming more and more important in this country, Just look at this how many views this question has attracted so far. And how many really know about Muslims here.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I will have to think about this. And I really appreciate the knowledge of the one who said If a woman is raped, she need four MEN Witness, I am a Muslim and so far I have not read that any where, Yes I do know what really is there, and does make a lot of sense. Of course when Bin men will start writing books on medicine then all the council workers will become doctors.
Perhaps, before you again make accusations of ignorance against other posters, ought to read the Koran, specifically:
Sura 2:282, that establishes that a woman's testimony is worth only half that of a man's
Sura (24:4), that states that a woman making an accusation of rape must bring four male witnesses or be flogged
Sura (24:13), that states that unless four male witnesses are provided, the rape accusation must be regarded as a lie.
Perhaps the Biblical verse about removing the log from your own eye is applicable here?

Combing through the Koran in order to transpose archaic teachings onto the personalities of billions of people is off-beam. You could just as easily do it with the Bible - and then apply those teachings to every living Westerner.
And yes, I've seen footage of the Taliban and youtube videos of sharia cruelty. I've also seen the film of the Jonestown massacre. And I've seen I-don't-know-how-many documentaries of slack-jawed American yokel Christians speaking in tongues and castigating homosexuals. I don't carry that memory with me every time I meet a new American or citizen of a Christian country - like Germany or Britain or Spain. It would be ridiculous.

It is not true that two female witnesses are always considered as equal to only one male witness. It is true only in certain cases. There are about five verses in the Qur�an that mention witnesses, without specifying male or female. There is only one verse in the Qur�an, that says two female witnesses are equal to one male witness. This verse is Surah Baqarah, chapter 2 verse 282. This is the longest verse in the Qur�an and deals with financial transactions. It says:
"Oh! ye who believe!
When ye deal with each other,
in transactions involving future obligation
in a fixed period of time
reduce them to writing and get two witnesses
out of your own men and if there are not two men,
then a man and two women, such as ye choose,
for witnesses so that if one of them errs
the other can remind her."
[Al-Qur�an 2:282]

Many of the people who have responded, including me, have often defended Islam on AB, but it appears that you are, single-handedly, changing their opinions. Are you really doing Islam any favours? That was all from Quran and Hadith, But now I tell you that, Witness is needed by the Accuser and not the victim. Otherwise Any one can accuse any body and get him in trouble. That is the reason Quran says that the ACCUSER should bring 4 witness to prove his or her accusations, Otherwise there is a punishment for them for not being able to bring 4 witnesses, and their witness in future would not be considered as they are labeled as liar. In Arab before Islam people used to accuse anyone for being adulterer and get them punished. Islam gave this protection.
