Hi there. My two year old Weimaraner GSP cross boy has being diagnosed will allergy problems. The main symptom is inflamed ears which then become dirty and sticky. We are working with the vet who is excellent but the steroid tablets which helped at first have stopped being effective at a dose which is acceptable in terms of side effects for the dog. The next stage is to try a topical steroid spray which we will start on monday. We have cleaned up his diet which has helped a lot but not solved the problem. We have also tried
Canaural drops (the thick yellow ones)
Thornit powder
We currently use ear cleaning solution made from boracic and lactic acid to clean his ears (at vets suggestion) plus the steroid tabs and evening primrose oil capsules, again at vet's suggestion.
has anyone else had experience of this and can you make any suggestions please?
He has bare, not hairy ear canals and is as good as gold about the twice daily cleaning and treatment.
thanks

Oooh got an urge for toast and golden syrup now, damn!
Morning all. Doing housework half heartedly. I hate cleaning. Dog to vets for 12.15pm for booster jabs, so will take her for a walk afterwards to unwind her. She hates vets!!

See you.
Good afternoon all. I've now read all the posts I've missed. I love the blue dress Robi but I wouldn't feel right in it. I'm not a 'frilly' person but would be more comfortable in the suit which you put on Lottie. That's brilliant.
I hope you're feeling better now Robi, and everyone with aches and pains are improving. Don't forget the cream Shaney. I am now not using the cream for my nethers as that has really improved but my Dr. says go back in 3 weeks to tell him how things are and if it comes back before to go sooner. He said that to me with his fingers crossed :o)
Yesterday I went to Tai Chi and then for lunch at a local place where I could get a carvery. I have been there 10 tiimes so I got mine for free. (Robi it's not the very local one! That's not near as good as where we went).

Then I came home picked up my shopping bags I'd forgotten, I hate plastic ones, then went to Sainsburys. After thati did some settings on my phone, I will get used to it one day, then after tea I went to see Derby play. They weren't very good last night but I had a laugh with my friends. My friend's son said to me that Samsung had brought out a new phone called the Kit Kat and before that there was one called the Mars. Guess who was sucked by that until his Dad said he was winding me up. Mine is a Galaxy. Get it !! I didn''t. Had my hair sut this a.m. and I'm now going to do my fish and chips. So that's me up to date - hope it's not been toooo boring for you. The sun is shining now and I may go for a Laters 'gaters
Morning all...no, sorry afternoon...:o)...just passin thru....
It's been quaite nice and I've been busy but it's gone dull so I've got one eye out of the window (it's on a stalk) 'cos the washings a-flappin, yay!
Anybody guess what a may go for in as per my last post :o)
Hi Jude and Robi.

Talking of shopping trollies. I returned mine to the trolley park with mine after Morrisons this morning and collected my pound coin. Went back to the car and felt so stupid. I had left the shopping in the trolley and had to go back and rescue it. The park was just outside the restaurant. I felt sure everyone would be laughin at me. Silly Biddie!!

I have taken Meggie on a longish walk, wrapped up in my wet weather clothing, but it didn't rain!!

See you later.
No idea Jude ..a walk ,a Baileys latte, a rumba round the kitchen :)
Hi all
Wet ,wild and windy here .No chance of flapping washing round here .
But I get into worse flaps ....

I must be the only person in the world who cannot operate a photocopier .
Next time Mr S. wants something copied he'll have to go himself and perhaps the infernal machine will work for him and not spew paper all over the library like it did for me to the great amusement of the old boys reading the newspapers .
Otherwise nothing doing here .Hope you are all Ok .Toodlepip for now .
What a picture you biddies conjure up, shopping left in trollies, and paper everywhere, Hilarious!

Bil should be home now, I spoke to sister at 13.30 and he was due anytime, with two carers to help him and presumably to show sissy what to do. Bless him.
heavens, the good name of biddies must have been taking a thwacking lately as copiers run riot and groceries are abandoned. I would like to report some simple task I have successfully achieved

... hmmm, still thinking. Emptying the dishwasher went reasonably well, I thought.
The silly thing was having to put the £1.00 back in the slot to get the trolley out again before I could retrieve the groceries jno!!! It is quite miraculous that I realised what I had done before I actually drove home. Dog was asleep in the boot all this time!!

Glad you managed the dishwasher!!!
Hope all goes well for Bill Nets. x
....and thanks to a dry, breezy day I've managed the washing and ironing all in the same day....!
I just commented on that on another thread Robi.

I feel satisfied too. I have just order a pair of palazzo trousers, a dress and a pair of shoes on line!!!!! Oh dear :o(
Question Author
hello all, that dress is fab but soooo not me. I had two pairs of trousers arrive in the mail today and both are going back as they are way too big. We did a blast of shopping while Sis was here, new lights for living room, dining room, loo, patio and front step, benches with flower tubs on the end for the new patio...I put them together today they are really nice, new sliding wardrobe doors to replace the ones that fell off more than a year ago, plants, oh and loads of lunches out and cakes.
My nice man who does is coming in a week or two to fit, install, repair and generally do stuff.
Dogs and me are exhausted...we have to wait in tomorrow for more deliveries so looking forward to a quiet day.
Sis left today, she comes back in April for Easter

Hello all, I have read the thread but am too stupefied to make much sense of it. Fingers crossed for you bil and his wife tho Neti.
Anyway oight oight I will be more rational tomorrow. Have just sniffled a bit over Sunday's call the midwife on vid, also the last eternal justice I really think that Samuel West is cute.
Hi All.Called in to say good night. Hair do is great really happy with it. They all know me so well where i go to have it done. The young woman who does it has been doing it for about 15 years and is really up with new techniques etc. she had just finished her training when she started on my hair and I've always been happy with how she does it.
Tonight's outing was fine - met my young friend and had a good chat in the pub. We only drank tea and coffee but were there for a couple of hours. We were both driving home.
Just listening to Leonard Cohen interview and songs. Very interesting and funny.

I hope your Bil goes on very well at home Neti.

My older sister is home and I have spoken to her on the phone. she told me when they landed in Munich on the way home it was snowing and they were half an hour late taking off as they had to de-ice the plane on the outside :o).
Looking forward to Saturday morning for a long chat about what she got up to and looking at lots of photos.

I'm off now really yawning and ready for bed so I'll say
Oight oight Biddyfriends everywhere. See yer later 'gater(s)
so impressed with all these biddies managing mobile phones and everything. I do have a landline but I don't use it, having nobody to call; and the only people who call me are the ones who want money. Most of my social communication (and there's very little of it) is done by email, which doesn't put a strain on my tinnitus.

Blood test today so am sitting fretting.
Question Author
jno stop fretting IMMEDIATELY!!!

Sat here getting over a tum upset and waiting for a delivery from argos.
Its quite a nice day here, dogs are out in the garden.
jno - So unlike you to sound so downbeat!!! We love you and we are not after your money ;o) Hope the blood tests are OK and as Woofy says, stop fretting immediately.
Just spotted I'm 19th on page so I expect my last post will appear when I've sent this,
