I really really fancy a steak & kidney pie. What's the next best thing to home made? Plenty of excuses for not doing my own at the moment! (individual please, not family size....so sad).
I can't stop laughing...remember I complained about the walnuts as well as the Lenor? Well £4's worth of Co-Op vouchers have just arrived, haha. I'm doing better at this than the lotto.
Now, what can I complain about............... just off to have a look.
Actually, I am taking a 4 pt container of milk back to Morrisons shortly. Opened it yesterday and it's rank. Still has a week left on the sell by date!!
Well if you go to the shop you'll just get another one... aim high, haha, write to the company & tell 'em they're selling rank milk make sure you get at least £4 Lottie, it seems to be the going rate :o)
Didn't work this time though Robi. The other two ATTENTION'S got instant results. Bet that Neti's out there somewhere in the sun tanning herself and sipping red wine!!
Why are you confused Lottie. I don't get any heating allowance because I didn't live in England when I first got my pension (an elderly friend got the £200 allowance and when she moved over to Spain, she told them and they refused to cancel it!) Also I have to pay for my prescriptions because I come under my younger husband who is working here and pays into the system. if he stopped working, then we would both be entitled to free health care and medicines cos I am a pensioner. I can vote in local elections but not in the general one!
for heaven's sake, I go away for a week in the rain and return to find everyone's had plastic surgery. I don't recognise any of the avatars in here at all. If anyone's interested, the Germans are just as distraught about the world cup as the English are. But all the Americans I met seemed quite happy with life for some reason.
Lottie no sun or wine for me today as am busy cleaning and washing. Do any of you actually take the toilet water tank apart to clean, cos I do and Mr N has said I am loopy!!
I am confused Neti because my friends are British Pensioners but come back over here to see their English Doctor and get free prescriptions. They now have Spanish domicillary whatsits. Neti, I presume you are not entitled to a British pension in your own rite then 'cos you didn't work in the UK for long enough (if at all).
Lottie I do have my own British pension (albeit a small one) met Mr N here and married 5yrs after leaving England. He won't get an english one but will get a Spanish one. I didn't get a spanish one cos when I was working here in the 70's there was no tax system and they lost all the records! And in the 80's i just did cash in hand and then had daughter so couldn't work as nursery fees were way too expensive!
I do still have an English doctor (I think) but have never seen him. He writes to me occasionally asking if I am up to date with mammograms etc! Would love a NHS dentist cos so expensive here. Have to go on wednesday for an estimate for incisor as there is a jolly big hole at the side!
Clear as mud eh Lottie? as to why your friends have to go to england for their treatment I have absolutely no idea, unless they do not understand the system, or their health authority has different rules!
